1. Role Purpose:
The Retail Leadership Track is designed to groom high potential MBA graduates from IIM into future P&L owners, cluster heads, and business leaders across our retail network. You will work directly with CXOs, drive strategic initiatives, and lead cross-functional teams to scale operations, improve customer experience, and build high-performance retail formats.
2. Key Responsibilities:
A. Strategy & Business Growth:
- Develop and execute store expansion strategies, market-entry plans, and customer acquisition models.
- Conduct competitive benchmarking, pricing strategy analysis, and category profitability assessments.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives across retail formats.
B. Operations & Process Excellence:
- Lead end-to-end store operations, including inventory planning, merchandising, and workforce management.
- Implement Lean retail processes, SOPs, and efficiency improvement projects.
- Monitor operational KPIs: footfall, conversion, ATV, shrinkage, and supply chain turnaround.
C. Leadership & People Management:
- Manage and mentor frontline teams; build a culture of performance and accountability.
- Collaborate with HR to design training modules, incentive structures, and productivity frameworks.
- Lead cross-functional teams across logistics, procurement, finance, and marketing.
D. Customer Experience & Brand Building:
- Design and implement customer experience (CX) enhancements across touchpoints.
- Work with marketing teams on brand campaigns, loyalty programs, and omnichannel initiatives.
- Use analytics to improve NPS, retention, and customer lifetime value.
E. Analytics & Decision Support:
- Use data-driven insights to optimize assortment, pricing, and store performance.
- Build dashboards for leadership review (Power BI / Tableau preferred).
- Present business reviews to CXOs and board-level committees.
3. Desired Candidate Profile (IIMA-Specific):
- MBA/PGP freshers from IIM (Class of 2025/2026).
- Strong interest in retail, consumer behaviour, operations, and leadership roles.
- Exceptional analytical skills with comfort in data-driven decision-making.
- High ownership, entrepreneurial mindset, and ability to lead teams early.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving ability.
- Willingness to work across multiple cities and retail formats.
