Halsus Chief - Centers of Excellence

Roles & Responsibilities :

- Define and drive a 3-year research and commercialisation strategy for the Centre of Excellence.

- Lead proprietary research, IP filings and patent development.

- Transition prototypes into scalable enterprise-grade platforms.

- Build and lead high-performance multidisciplinary teams across research, engineering and product functions.

- Convert cutting-edge research into revenue-generating products through a structured lab-to-market pipeline.

- Secure and manage enterprise and government contracts, sponsored research and executive education programmes.

- Incubate 5 or more startups or innovation projects annually.

- Publish in top-tier global venues and represent the institution at international conferences.

- Build and maintain 15 or more active industry, government and academic partnerships.

- Achieve 70 percent cost recovery via external revenue by Year 3.

- Manage P and L, business development, IP strategy and executive stakeholder relationships.

- Oversee domain-specific infrastructure including GPU clusters, cyber ranges, robotics labs, XR studios or HPC systems.

- Champion responsible and ethical technology principles across all decisions.

- Govern architectural standards, quality benchmarks and compliance frameworks.

Preferred candidate profile :

- Senior technology leader with 10 to 18 plus years bridging deep domain research and corporate or academic leadership.

- Master's degree or PhD in a relevant discipline is mandatory.

- Proven track record in P and L management, business development, IP strategy and multidisciplinary team leadership.

- Experience in startup incubation or technology licensing is strongly preferred.

- Published research in top-tier venues such as NeurIPS ICML CVPR or IEEE is an advantage.

- Must be equally comfortable leading a research agenda, architecting enterprise platforms and closing high-value industry deals.

- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build from the ground up in a fast-growing institution.

- Exposure to funding agencies such as DST SERB or DBT is a plus.

- Open to candidates from premier academic institutions, deep-tech companies, R and D organisations or government research bodies.

- Indian and international candidates are welcome.
