Role Overview
We are seeking a Retail Head who brings extensive experience in managing large-scale retail operations across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with strong business acumen, deep understanding of P&L management, and a proven ability to optimize store performance metrics such as average revenue per sq. ft., store-level EBITDA, payback period, and capex efficiency.
You will lead end-to-end retail strategy - from new store rollouts and location finalization to operations, profitability, customer experience, and team management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Retail Leadership:
- Develop and implement the overall retail expansion strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Identify potential new markets, evaluate catchment analysis, and finalize store locations based on revenue potential and ROI.
2. P&L and Financial Management:
- Own complete P&L for all stores - monitor sales, expenses, profitability, and ROI.
- Track and improve key metrics like average revenue per sq. ft., conversion rates, and store-level EBITDA.
- Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost control plans.
- Ensure healthy payback periods and optimal utilization of capex and opex.
3. Operations & Performance:
- Oversee daily retail operations across 20+ stores ensuring smooth functioning and adherence to SOPs.
- Drive retail KPIs including footfall-to-sale conversion, customer retention, and cross-selling.
- Ensure efficient inventory management, visual merchandising, and operational excellence.
- Conduct regular audits and ensure compliance with company policies.
4. Team Leadership:
- Build, mentor, and lead regional retail managers and store teams.
- Drive performance-based culture and ensure continuous upskilling of store staff.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and HR for seamless execution.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong business and financial acumen (P&L, ROI, payback period, EBITDA management).
- Deep understanding of retail metrics
- Expertise in site selection, lease negotiation, and store rollout project management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven track record in managing 20+ stores across multiple geographies.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- High sense of ownership and entrepreneurial mindset.
Qualifications:
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Business, Retail Management, or related field.
- 12+ years of experience in retail management, preferably in beauty, fashion, or lifestyle sectors.
- Prior experience in managing P&L and multi-store operations is mandatory.
