With strong offline and online presence (website, offline stores, and home trial services), we are on a mission to revolutionize the hair fashion industry in India and beyond. As we scale, we are building a seamless omnichannel tech ecosystem to deliver a world-class customer experience.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Fractional CTO to partner with the leadership team and act as the strategic advisor and hands-on technology head for Hair Originals. This role is ideal for a senior technology leader who enjoys building scalable systems, customer-centric products, and integrating multiple platforms into a unified ecosystem, but prefers part-time/consulting-style engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Strategy & Leadership
- Define and execute the overall technology roadmap for Hair Originals.
- Ensure seamless integration between Website (Shopify), Unicommerce, logistics partners, Offline Stores, Home Trials, LMS (LeadSquared), CRM, WhatsApp bots, and other marketing tools (like CleverTap etc.).
- Build and maintain a robust, scalable, and secure tech ecosystem to support omnichannel retail.
- Advise leadership on emerging technologies, MarTech tools, and cost-effective solutions for growth.
Product & Platform Development
- Oversee revamp of the Hair Originals entire Omni channel ecosystem to deliver consistent, high-quality customer experience
- Define tech & product architecture for omnichannel journeys (website call center store home trial/Offline stores).
- Build Techology/product roadmaps for customer journey automation, personalization, and data-driven engagement.
- Ensure smooth functioning and uptime of all digital platforms.
Agency/Partner Management
- He will be a one man army who will make things done though a external agency
- Manage and mentor external tech/product agency as an extended team.
- Set clear processes, workflows, and SLAs for technology partner.
- Review and approve tech deliverables, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Data, Analytics & Security
- Create unified customer data models to enable single customer view.
- Ensure data flows seamlessly across marketing, sales, operations, basically across all platforms.
- Implement analytics dashboards for leadership to track KPIs (conversion rates, funnel drops, lead quality, etc.).
- Maintain best practices for cybersecurity, backups, and compliance.
Key Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in technology/product leadership roles, ideally in D2C, e-commerce, or consumer tech startups.
- Strong knowledge of Shopify ecosystem, Unicommerce, CRM tools (LeadSquared), marketing automation (CleverTap), WhatsApp API integrations, and omnichannel retail systems.
- Hands-on ability to evaluate vendors, manage integrations, and deliver scalable solutions.
- Strategic thinker with an execution-first mindset.
- Prior experience as a CTO, Head of Product/Tech, or senior architect in growth-stage companies preferred.
- Open to fractional/part-time engagement (2 days a week in office, rest WFH for 15-20 hours a week).
Compensation
Fractional engagement: Fixed monthly retainer + performance-linked bonuses.
Reporting
Reports directly to the CEO/CBO.
