Description: Finance Head / Finance Controller

About the Role:

We are a growing retail and D2C business with sales through online platforms and offline formats like home trials and Experience Centres. The Finance Head will be a key partner to the CEO and Board, while also working closely with investors. This role will ensure strong financial management, profitability, compliance and help the company scale sustainably.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Finance & Investor Partnering

- Partner with the CEO and business heads to drive financial performance across D2C, E-commerce, quick commerce, and offline retail channels.

- Act as the financial voice for investors, ensuring transparent reporting, forecasting, and communication.

- Drive fundraising strategies, investor relations, and capital allocation decisions.

- Provide financial insights to support pricing, product launches, consumer acquisition costs, and channel profitability.

2. Financial Planning & Analysis

- Lead annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and scenario planning for a multi-channel retail business.

- Monitor key performance metrics (CAC, LTV, contribution margins, channel ROI) and provide actionable insights.

- Develop robust financial models for expansion, new formats, and digital initiatives.

3. Treasury, Working Capital & Cash Flow

- Manage cash flows, vendor payments, and receivables across multiple platforms.

- Build strong banking relationships and negotiate financing structures for growth.

- Optimize inventory funding and payment terms with marketplaces and channel partners.

4. Governance, Compliance & Controls

- Establish and strengthen financial controls, SOPs, and compliance with statutory, taxation, and corporate governance requirements.

- Ensure timely audits, regulatory filings, and accurate reporting in line with Indian and international standards.

- Implement risk management strategies covering forex, contracts, insurance, and fraud prevention.

5. Commercial & Operational Finance

- Partner with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams with data-driven insights.

- Drive cost optimization in logistics, marketing spends, and channel commissions.

- Evaluate ROI of new initiatives such as quick commerce tie-ups, online campaigns, and offline activations.

6. Leadership & Team Development

- Build and mentor a high-performance finance team aligned to the companys growth journey.

- Foster a culture of accountability, agility, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Qualifications:

- Chartered Accountant CA Finance with 8 - 10+ years of experience.

- Experience in retail, consumer goods, e-commerce, or D2C businesses.

- Strong track record in fundraising, investor relations, and financial planning.

- Knowledge of ERP systems and digital reporting tools.

- Strong leadership and communication skills.
