Role - Assistant Manager, Finance & Accounting

The role is responsible for leading finance and compliance delivery for GCC clients under an outsourced services model. It requires strong operational control across accounting, payroll, and statutory compliance, along with the ability to manage teams, scale volumes, and interact confidently with senior stakeholders across geographies.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting and month close

- Lead execution and review of Record to Report activities for assigned clients, including journals, reconciliations, and period close.

- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of monthly and quarterly reporting.

- Apply working knowledge of Indian GAAP and Ind AS, and support other reporting frameworks where required.

- Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable outputs, including ageing and follow- ups.

- Own end to end month close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting timelines

- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial statements and schedules

- Review general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis

- Support management reporting and MIS preparation aligned to client requirements

Compliance and regulatory management

- Ensure end to end compliance with Indian regulations, including:

- FEMA and cross border transaction compliance

- GST filings, reconciliations, and input credit tracking

- TDS computation, filings, and reconciliations

- Advance tax computation and coordination with tax advisors

- Companies Act related compliance in coordination with Company Secretary

- STPI and other regulatory filings, where applicable

- Labour law compliance including PF, ESI, and other statutory obligations

- Track compliance calendars and ensure zero missed deadlines

- Handle notices, queries, and coordination with external consultants

Payroll and related compliance

- Oversee payroll processing, validation, and disbursement cycles

- Ensure accuracy in employee tax computation, reimbursements, and statutory deductions

- Manage payroll related filings and documentation

- Establish robust controls and documentation for payroll processes

Accounts Payable and controls

- Oversee AP operations including invoice processing, vendor payments, and ageing

- Ensure strong approval workflows, maker checker controls, and audit trail

- Implement and monitor internal controls to prevent errors or leakages

- Drive process improvements in payable cycles and vendor management

Team leadership and delivery management

- Lead, train, and review work of team members across accounting, payroll, and compliance

- Establish clear review mechanisms, SLAs, and escalation protocols

- Build capability within the team and ensure consistent delivery quality

- Plan capacity and resource allocation to handle fluctuations in workload

- Manage quick scaling of operations in line with business growth

Client and stakeholder management

- Act as primary point of contact for client finance teams and senior stakeholders

- Communicate clearly on deliverables, risks, and timelines

- Handle queries with confidence, ensuring accuracy and professionalism

- Build strong working relationships with client leadership and internal stakeholders

Process and continuous improvement

- Identify gaps in processes and implement practical improvements

- Standardise workflows, documentation, and controls

- Support transition of new clients and scale up of existing engagements

- Ensure strong documentation, audit trails, and adherence to client SOPs.

Audit and reporting

- Prepare and review schedules for statutory audits and internal reviews.

- Support MIS preparation, variance analysis, and working capital forecasting for TP.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Strong hands on experience in accounting, controllership, and outsourced service delivery models

- Deep understanding of Indian compliance landscape including FEMA, GST, TDS, payroll, and labour laws

- Solid exposure to payroll administration and related statutory requirements

- Working knowledge of Accounts Payable processes and internal controls

- Proven experience in team handling and delivery management

- Ability to manage high volume environments and scale operations quickly

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Prior experience interacting with senior stakeholders and global teams

- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ownership mindset
