The Position Guidewire Technology Director

Location: Hyderabad, India

Employment Type: Full-time | Leadership Role

About the Role:

We are looking for an accomplished technical leader to lead our Guidewire Engineering teams from our Hyderabad office.

Tech Lead / Architect will be responsible for leading the technical design, architecture, and implementation of software solutions.

This role requires a deep understanding of software development, architecture principles, and the ability to lead and mentor development teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience in the insurance industry.

The role will focus on providing solutions on the Guidewire platforms across cross functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership:

- Lead the design and architecture of Guidewire applications, ensuring alignment with business requirements and industry best practices.

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

- Act as a technical point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on technical decisions

Solution Design and Architecture:

- Develop and maintain architectural blueprints and design documents for software solutions.

- Ensure that solutions are scalable, maintainable, and meet performance requirements.

- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance the development process

Implementation and Development:

- Oversee the implementation of software solutions, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices.

- Collaborate with development teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure high-quality deliverables.

- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to improve code quality and maintainability

Collaboration and Communication:

- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, project managers, and QA teams, to ensure successful project delivery.

- Participate in Agile ceremonies, such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

- Communicate technical concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner

Relevant Background & Experience:

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- A masters degree is a plus

- Minimum of 15 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or architectural role.

- Proven experience in designing and implementing complex software solutions.

- Ability to define best practices, coding standards and technical frameworks for Guidewire suite deployments

- Multiple Certifications in Guidewire Platform

- Experience in the insurance industry and understanding of relevant processes (Policy, Claims & Billing) is preferred

Technical Skills:

- 5+ years of experience as a Guidewire Solutions/Technical architect

- Proven experience integrating Guidewire with Pega applications (Case management, BPM, decisioning)

- Experience with Guidewire configuration, GOSU development and APIs

- Hands on experience with integration frameworks (SOAP/Rest, APIs, messaging, MQ, ESB, Mulesoft, Kafka etc)

- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and microservices architecture.

- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD, Docker).

- Understanding of database design and management (e.g., SQL, NoSQL)
