GTM Consultant - Building Material - Consulting Firm - Contractual

Our client, a leading global consulting firm is seeking an experienced GTM Consultant to support a sales transformation engagement for a client in the building materials sector, with a focus on pipes. Candidates with strong experience in the pipes or paints industry and front-line sales are highly preferred.

As part of this engagement, you will help strengthen the client's go-to-market strategy and sales execution across key South Indian markets. Working closely with the consulting team and client stakeholders, you will bring practical market insights, support commercial decision-making, and drive initiatives to improve sales effectiveness and market penetration.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support the development and execution of go-to-market and sales strategies for the client.

- Provide deep market insights and commercial expertise across South Indian markets, particularly Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala.

- Work closely with consulting and client teams to identify opportunities for sales growth and improve front-line sales effectiveness.

- Leverage industry knowledge to recommend practical approaches for strengthening channel performance and market coverage.

- Engage with key stakeholders to support strategic decision-making and ensure successful execution of sales initiatives.

Your Background:

- 712 years of front-line sales experience within the building materials sector, preferably in pipes or paints.

- Strong understanding of GTM strategy, sales execution, and commercial operations.

- Proven experience managing or driving sales across South Indian markets (Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala).

- Chennai-based candidates are preferred; consultants willing to relocate to Chennai with relevant regional market experience will also be considered.

- Proficiency in one or more South Indian languages is highly desirable.

- Bachelor's degree required; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is advantageous.

Other Info:

- This is a full-time, contractual role with an initial duration of 12 months, which is extendable based on project requirements and performance.

- The engagement is expected to commence within the next two weeks.

- Location: Chennai (on-site). Consultants should ideally be based in Chennai or be open to relocating there for the duration of the project.

- Candidates with strong regional market experience and local language capabilities will be preferred.
