Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Manager / Manager - Costing to lead product costing, budgeting, and variance analysis functions. The role will be responsible for driving cost optimization, strengthening inventory controls, and ensuring accurate reconciliation between cost and financial accounts. The incumbent will work closely with Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain teams and must have strong hands-on experience with SAP.

Key Responsibilities:

Costing & Analysis:

- Analyze and control product costs, including Material, Labor, and Overheads

- Prepare and maintain standard costs for products and processes

- Identify cost reduction opportunities and drive improvement initiatives

- Monitor cost trends and provide insights to management for decision-making

Budgeting & Planning:

- Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting exercises

- Track and analyze cost variances against budgets and standards

- Investigate variance drivers and recommend corrective actions

SAP & Systems:

- Work extensively on SAP (Costing, Controlling, Inventory modules)

- Ensure accuracy of cost data, BOMs, routings, and valuation in SAP

- Support system audits, process improvements, and master data governance

Inventory & Controls:

- Develop and implement inventory control procedures

- Monitor inventory valuation, slow-moving and obsolete stock

- Coordinate and support physical stock verification and cycle counts

Reconciliation & Reporting:

- Perform reconciliation of cost profits with financial profits

- Ensure alignment between cost records and financial statements

- Prepare cost reports, MIS, and presentations for senior management

Cross-Functional Coordination:

- Collaborate with Production, Procurement, Finance, and Stores teams

- Support internal and external audits related to costing and inventory

- Hands-on experience with SAP (mandatory)

- Ability to interpret data and convert it into actionable insights

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Industry Background:

- Manufacturing / Engineering / Industrial Products / Auto Components (preferred)
