As we continue to expand our advisory platform and strengthen our debt syndication practice, we are looking for an experienced and high-performing Senior Manager/Manager - Debt Syndication to lead our advisory team and drive business growth.

About the Role:

Senior Manager/Manager - Debt Syndication will be responsible for leading a team of Credit Analysts and Relationship Managers and overseeing the end-to-end execution of debt advisory and syndication mandates. The role requires a strong combination of financial acumen, credit understanding, business development, client relationship management, negotiation skills, and team leadership. The incumbent will work closely with corporate clients and financial institutions, develop financing strategies, drive transactions from origination to closure, and contribute to the overall P&L and growth objectives of the advisory business.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Client Advisory & Business Development:

- Manage and develop relationships with MSMEs, Mid-Corporates, and other corporate clients.

- Understand clients' business models, financial position, funding requirements, and strategic objectives.

- Provide advisory on a wide range of debt and structured financing solutions offered by Banks, NBFCs, AIFs, and other financial institutions.

- Identify new business opportunities through client relationships, market networks, referrals, and institutional partnerships.

- Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients and decision-makers.

- Act as a trusted financial advisor by providing commercially viable and customised funding solutions.

2. Debt Syndication & Transaction Execution:

- Lead the end-to-end execution of debt financing and syndication mandates, from initial assessment through closure.

- Evaluate financing requirements and work with the credit team to develop appropriate funding structures.

- Coordinate with Banks, NBFCs, AIFs, and other lenders for proposal evaluation and transaction execution.

- Lead discussions and negotiations around commercial terms, pricing, collateral, covenants, repayment structures, and other financing conditions.

- Monitor transaction progress, identify potential execution challenges, and ensure timely closure of mandates.

- Ensure high-quality preparation and presentation of financial proposals, credit notes, information memorandums, and lender submissions.

3. Team Leadership & Performance Management:

- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of Credit Analysts and Relationship Managers.

- Establish clear individual and team objectives aligned with business and revenue targets.

- Monitor team performance, productivity, pipeline, conversions, and transaction closures.

- Provide regular coaching, feedback, and guidance to enhance team capabilities.

- Identify skill gaps and drive structured training and development initiatives.

- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and client-centricity.

4. P&L & Business Growth:

- Take ownership of the assigned business vertical's revenue and P&L objectives.

- Develop and implement business strategies to increase client acquisition, transaction volumes, and revenue.

- Monitor the overall business pipeline and ensure adequate conversion of opportunities into mandates and closures.

- Analyse business performance and identify opportunities for improving profitability and operational efficiency.

- Work closely with senior management to develop and execute growth strategies.

5. Market Intelligence & Financial Insights:

- Stay updated on debt markets, lending trends, interest-rate movements, credit appetite, sector trends, and regulatory developments.

- Maintain strong knowledge of financing products and lender-specific credit policies.

- Provide relevant market intelligence and insights to clients and internal teams.

- Track competitor activity and evolving market practices to strengthen the firm's advisory proposition.

- Proactively identify emerging financing opportunities and solutions for clients.

6. Stakeholder & Institutional Management:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, NBFCs, AIFs, and other financial institutions.

- Collaborate with lenders to understand their credit appetite, product offerings, and transaction requirements.

- Coordinate effectively with internal teams including Credit, Relationship Management, Operations, and Senior Management.

- Serve as the escalation point for complex client or transaction-related matters.

- Ensure timely resolution of issues while maintaining strong client and institutional relationships.

Candidate Profile:

We are looking for a commercially driven finance professional with strong credit, business banking, debt advisory, and relationship management experience.

Educational Qualification:

- Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

- CA - Qualified candidates will also be considered.

- Additional qualifications in finance or credit will be an advantage.

Experience:

- 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following: Business Banking, MSME / SME Banking, Mid-Market / Corporate Banking, Working Capital Finance, Credit & Underwriting, Debt Syndication, Financial Advisory, Corporate Finance.

- Experience with Banks, NBFCs, AIFs, or financial advisory firms is preferred.

- Candidates with demonstrated experience in managing client relationships and leading teams will have an added advantage.
