About the role:


As the Head of Commerce for Portfolio 1, you will be a pivotal and transformative leader responsible for driving e-commerce growth for a diverse portfolio of clients. This portfolio spans across high-growth categories including FMCG, Lifestyle, Automobiles, Fashion, Electronics, Appliances, etc.


This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role where you will be empowered to re-shape and reimagine our clients' commerce journeys, delivering integrated full-funnel solutions across media and ecommerce. You will operate as a strategic consultant, an innovative leader, & collaborating extensively with various internal teams.


This includes your direct BAU team, Central guidance teams, Trading for bespoke partnerships, and Choreograph for cutting-edge commerce tech solutions. Your ultimate goal will be to seamlessly integrate commerce into overall media strategies, ensuring excellence in delivery and measurable business impact for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:


- Strategic Leadership & Growth: Develop and execute comprehensive ecommerce strategies that drive significant, measurable growth for a diverse portfolio of clients.


- Client Engagement & Development: Identify key growth opportunities and address gaps within client e-commerce operations, creating tailored engagement plans and robust Annual Operating Plans (AOPs) for sustained growth.


- Integrated Solutions Architect: Design and implement cutting-edge, fullfunnel commerce solutions, leveraging expertise in media, strategic partnerships, Martech, and data-driven insights.


- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong partnerships with internal teams including BAU, Central, Trading, Choreograph (commerce tech), and Client Leadership to deliver cohesive and integrated media and commerce solutions.


- Innovation & Operational Excellence: Champion a culture of "Test and Learn" within your team and with clients, driving continuous product and process excellence through regular internal and external Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).


- Business Development & Expansion: Lead and successfully win new client pitches or expand existing client engagements with innovative new product and service offerings.


- Portfolio & People Management: Oversee the 4 Ps Product, Process, People, and Profile ensuring optimal performance, strategic development, and strong market positioning of your portfolio and team.


In 3 months:


In this role, your goals would be:


- Understand WPP media Commerce clients and create client level engagement plans - Identify gaps and opportunities


- Understand WPP media commerce suite & solutions comprehensively


- QBR Do internal/external QBR for driving Product and process Excellence


In 6 months:


- Mentor and co-Develop AOP/Annual growth plan for brands that you work on


- Pitch Lead Lead pitches New business development


- T&L Culture Create Initiatives that can help in clients and internal team members Test and Learn program


In 12 months:


- Managing 4P Product, Process, People, Profile


Qualifications:


- Total Work experience 15 years+


- Experience in Commerce 8 years+ could be experience in client, partner or agency side


- Education Masters Degree incl MBA


- Commerce Subject matter expertise needs to have a deep understanding of growth levers Media, Content, Tech in eCommerce. Needs to have a deep understanding of how role of ecommerce media, understand strategic interplay between on-platform and off-platform, inter-play of display and search, inter-play of media and comms.


- Consultancy needs to play consultative/solutions architect roles
