Job Title: Group HR Director
Location: East Africa / Kenya/Rwanda
Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and strategic Group HR Director to lead the Human Resources function across multiple business units and geographies. The role will be responsible for driving HR strategy, talent management, organizational development, employee engagement, performance culture, and HR governance to support rapid business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Strategy & Business Partnering:
- Develop and implement group-wide HR strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Partner with senior leadership on business expansion, workforce planning, and organization design.
- Act as a strategic advisor on people matters and culture transformation.
Talent Acquisition & Succession Planning:
- Lead recruitment strategy for leadership and critical positions.
- Build talent pipelines for future growth requirements.
- Drive succession planning and leadership continuity across functions.
Leadership Development & Capability Building:
- Design and implement leadership development programs.
- Strengthen managerial capabilities and employee skill development frameworks.
- Build learning culture across the organization.
Performance Management:
- Develop and manage performance management systems.
- Ensure clear goal setting, regular reviews, and accountability culture.
- Link performance outcomes with rewards and development plans.
Employee Engagement & Culture:
- Drive employee engagement, retention, and wellness initiatives.
- Build a high-performance, ownership-driven culture.
- Promote diversity, inclusion, and positive employee relations.
HR Operations & Compliance:
- Oversee HR operations including policies, compensation, benefits, payroll governance, and HR systems.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and statutory requirements across locations.
- Standardize HR processes and governance frameworks.
Change Management:
- Lead transformation initiatives, restructuring, and organization change programs.
- Support business leaders during scaling and expansion phases.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- MBA / Masters degree in HR or related discipline.
- 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience.
- Experience managing multi-location or multi-country HR operations preferred.
- Strong expertise in talent management, culture building, and HR strategy.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively across business locations.
