Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead Government & Public Affairs, driving strategic engagement with government bodies, regulatory authorities, and key stakeholders. The role will be responsible for shaping policy advocacy, managing corporate reputation, and enabling business growth through effective government relations and regulatory navigation.

Key Responsibilities:

Government Relations & Policy Advocacy:

- Develop and execute strategies to engage with national, state, and local government authorities.

- Influence public policy, legislation, and regulatory frameworks aligned with organizational objectives.

- Represent the organization in policy discussions, consultations, and industry forums.

- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess their business impact.

Stakeholder Management & Strategic Alliances:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, regulators, industry bodies, and trade associations.

- Lead stakeholder mapping and engagement strategies for critical projects and initiatives.

Collaborate with domestic and international industry groups, embassies, and consulates.

Approvals, Licensing & Compliance:

- Oversee end-to-end processes for obtaining licenses, approvals, and regulatory clearances.

- Liaise with government agencies for issue resolution, policy interpretation, and compliance matters.

- Ensure adherence to post-approval compliance requirements and regulatory obligations.

Policy Participation & Representation:

- Draft representations, policy papers, and official correspondence to government bodies.

- Actively participate in industry associations to shape policy positions and outcomes.

- Advocate for favorable budgetary allocations and policy resolutions.

- Corporate Communications & Reputation Management

- Lead corporate communications and public relations initiatives across print and electronic media.

- Design and implement strategies to maintain and enhance the organization's public image.

- Manage crisis communication and reputation risks effectively.

Project Facilitation & Infrastructure Support:

- Support greenfield and brownfield projects, including land acquisition and regulatory approvals.

- Facilitate government interactions for investments, land allocation, and dispute resolution.

- Engage with urban and infrastructure authorities for project execution.

Leadership & Organizational Development:

- Lead corporate affairs functions across headquarters and multiple states.

- Build, mentor, and manage high-performing teams.

- Support legal and legacy matters in coordination with internal stakeholders.

- Establish and strengthen institutional frameworks such as Centers of Excellence and partnerships.

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong expertise in Government Relations, Public Policy, and Corporate Affairs

- Proven ability to influence policy, legislation, and regulatory environments

- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills

- Strategic thinking with strong execution capabilities

- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and public speaking skills

- Crisis management and reputation handling expertise

- Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and governance systems

Experience & Qualifications:

- Extensive experience in Corporate Affairs, Government Relations, or Public Affairs roles

- Proven track record of working with government bodies and regulatory authorities at multiple levels

- Experience in policy advocacy, licensing, and compliance management

- Exposure to large-scale projects, investments, and infrastructure-related approvals

Preferred Experience:

- Experience handling multi-state government relations and head office coordination

- Prior engagement with ministries, regulatory bodies, and urban development authorities

- Experience collaborating with industry bodies, trade associations, and international stakeholders.
