Group Finance Controller - CA

Job Title: Group Finance Controller

Location: Bangalore (Bengaluru) - 5 - day work week

Experience: 12+ years (preferably 12-15 yrs) in finance leadership, controllership, or senior finance manager roles

Qualification: CA (Chartered Accountant) - Must

Industry Preference: Startups / Scale- ups - Manufacturing, Engineering, or related sectors

Role Overview:

- Lead and oversee all financial control functions for the group, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.

- Partner with business units to drive strategic decision- making through financial insights.

- Manage month- end close, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

- Build and mentor a high- performing finance team (3- 5 members).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

- Own budgeting, forecasting, and rolling projections.

- Deliver variance analysis, scenario modelling, and actionable insights.

2. Month- End & Year- End Close:

- Lead timely, accurate close cycles (monthly, quarterly, annual).

- Ensure compliance with Ind- AS/ IFRS and statutory requirements.

3. Reporting:

- Prepare consolidated financial statements, MIS dashboards, and board reports.

- Align reporting with group strategy and investor expectations.

4. Internal Controls & Governance:

- Implement and monitor internal controls, risk mitigation, and audit readiness.

- Ensure adherence to SOX/ local compliance frameworks (if applicable).

5. Team Leadership:

- Recruit, train, and mentor finance team members.

- Foster a culture of ownership, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

6. Stakeholder Management:

- Liaise with CXO, investors, auditors, and banks.

- Support M&A, fundraising, and strategic projects with financial due diligence.

Desired Skills & Competencies:

- CA (India) + 12 yrs progressive finance leadership

- Strong expertise in Ind- AS / IFRS

- Proven experience in manufacturing / engineering sector

- Advanced Excel, Power BI / Tableau (data visualization)

- Strategic thinker, strong analytical & problem- solving abilities

- Excellent communication, stakeholder management

- Comfortable in a fast- paced startup environment
