Role Overview:
As the Group Costing specialist within our Sheet Metal division, you will be the driving force behind accurate cost analysis, budgeting, and forecasting activities. Your day-to-day will involve collaborating closely with the production, engineering, and finance teams to develop and maintain standard costs, analyze variances, and provide insightful financial reporting. You will play a critical role in optimizing our manufacturing processes, improving profitability, and supporting strategic decision-making across the group. Your work will directly impact the company's bottom line and contribute to our continued success in the competitive sheet metal fabrication market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain standard costing models for sheet metal products, ensuring accuracy and reflecting current market prices and production efficiencies.
- Analyze production costs, identifying variances and providing detailed explanations to management, enabling informed decision-making for cost control.
- Prepare and manage annual budgets and rolling forecasts, collaborating with department heads to align financial plans with operational goals, driving financial performance.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses for new projects and investments, providing financial insights to support strategic planning and resource allocation.
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels, identifying slow-moving or obsolete items and recommending actions to minimize losses, optimizing working capital.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, providing insightful analysis of cost trends and profitability to senior management, facilitating performance evaluation.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, maintaining data integrity and minimizing financial risks.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement robust costing methodologies within a manufacturing environment, specifically in the sheet metal industry.
- Proven expertise in cost accounting principles, budgeting, and forecasting techniques, enabling accurate financial planning and analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of identifying cost drivers and recommending solutions for cost optimization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present financial information to non-financial audiences.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA) is a plus.
- Comfortable working in an on-site role in Gurgaon/Gurugram, fostering collaboration and engagement with local teams.
