About The Role:

This position directly reports to Head of Corporate Finance and Taxation. The position will be responsible for managing the organization's direct and indirect taxation, payroll audits, enterprise risk & insurance, mergers & acquisitions, and finance-led ERP implementation initiatives.

Designation: Assistant General Manager Corporate Finance and Taxation

Location: Ahmedabad

Job Responsibilities:

Direct & Indirect Taxation:

- Ensure timely compliance with Direct Tax, GST, TDS, and other statutory requirements.

- Manage tax assessments, departmental notices, audits, and litigation.

- Develop tax-efficient business structures while ensuring regulatory compliance.

- Coordinate with external consultants and tax authorities.

Payroll Audit:

- Review payroll processes to ensure statutory and company policy compliance.

- Conduct periodic payroll audits covering salary structure, reimbursements, PF, ESIC, PT, gratuity, and TDS.

- Recommend process improvements and strengthen payroll controls.

Risk Management & Insurance:

- Develop and monitor enterprise risk management framework.

- Manage insurance portfolio including property, marine, liability, employee, and cyber insurance.

- Coordinate claim settlements and optimize insurance coverage with cost efficiency.

Merger & Acquisition (M&A):

- Support financial due diligence, valuation, and transaction structuring.

- Coordinate with legal, tax, and financial advisors during acquisitions and restructuring.

- Assist in post-merger integration, financial reporting, and synergy realization.

ERP Implementation & Process Automation:

- Lead finance-related ERP implementation, enhancement, and automation initiatives.

- Define finance process requirements and ensure successful UAT and deployment.

- Improve reporting accuracy through system-driven controls and dashboards.

- Collaborate with IT and business teams for continuous ERP optimization.

Skills Summary:

What we require (Desired Skills and abilities):

- Strong knowledge of Direct & Indirect Taxation, statutory compliance, and tax planning.

- Experience in payroll audits, risk management, insurance, and M&A transactions.

- Expertise in ERP implementation, finance process automation, and project management.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.

- Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

- Experience: Minimum 8-12 years (relevant experience) of experience in corporate finance and taxation role.

Educational Qualification:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory.
