Financial Modeling Analyst
As a Financial Modeling Analyst, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining dynamic financial models to support valuation, budgeting, forecasting, investment analysis, and strategic planning.
Youll work closely with finance, strategy, and business teams to provide insights and recommendations backed by data and financial rigor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain complex and dynamic financial models (DCF, LBO, M&A, 3-statement, scenario/sensitivity models).
- Conduct valuation analysis using various methodologies DCF, Comparable Company Analysis, Precedent Transactions, etc.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
- Analyze business performance, cost structures, and profitability across projects, departments, or geographies.
- Provide decision support for new projects, investments, pricing, and market entry.
- Prepare detailed dashboards, reports, pitch decks, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with business leaders, investors, and cross-functional teams to deliver financial insights.
- Stay current with market trends, economic changes, and industry benchmarks to enhance assumptions and forecasts.
- Ensure accuracy, transparency, and auditability of all model inputs, outputs, and calculations.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Advanced Excel modeling (nested formulas, scenario managers, dynamic dashboards)
- Experience in building 3-statement models, valuation models, and cash flow forecasts
- Strong proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus
- Knowledge of financial accounting, corporate finance principles, and investment appraisal techniques
- Familiarity with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, or Refinitiv for market data (optional)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and storytelling skills
- Attention to detail with the ability to work independently and under tight deadlines
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
Tools & Technologies:
- Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, VBA/macros preferred)
- Microsoft PowerPoint & Word
- Power BI / Tableau (desirable)
- ERP tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite preferred)
- Financial databases like Capital IQ, Bloomberg, PitchBook (optional)
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
- MBA/CFA/CA qualification is a plus
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in financial modeling, investment banking, FP&A, corporate finance, or consulting
