The Project Finance Analyst will play a key role in supporting the financial assessment, modeling, and execution of projects across their lifecycle.
This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams including corporate finance, operations, legal, and external financial institutions to ensure project viability, profitability, and compliance with funding requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate the feasibility and profitability of proposed and ongoing projects.
- Conduct sensitivity analysis, scenario planning, and risk assessment to support investment decisions.
- Assist in structuring financial deals including debt and equity arrangements, working capital planning, and return on investment.
- Perform cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis for project-level finances.
- Support the preparation of investment memoranda, pitch decks, and internal approvals documentation.
- Coordinate with legal, tax, treasury, and business units to assess implications of financing structures and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Assist in the due diligence process for project funding, acquisitions, or divestments.
- Track project milestones, disbursements, and financial covenants as per lender and investor agreements.
- Prepare internal reports and dashboards for leadership and stakeholders.
- Liaise with banks, financial institutions, and advisors on project finance transactions.
- Stay updated on market trends, interest rates, funding options, and regulatory changes relevant to project finance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field (MBA or CFA preferred).
- 25 years of relevant experience in project finance, corporate finance, investment banking, or financial consulting.
- Strong financial modeling skills with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and ideally tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Knowledge of project financing structures, including non-recourse financing, SPVs, and public-private partnerships (PPP).
- Familiarity with financial documentation, lender covenants, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Understanding of financial metrics like IRR, NPV, DSCR, and WACC.
Preferred Experience (Good to Have):
- Experience working in sectors such as infrastructure, power & utilities, real estate, or renewable energy.
- Exposure to project management tools or ERP systems (SAP, Oracle).
- Understanding of ESG frameworks and sustainability-linked finance is an added advantage
