Job Description for Sr. Manager/ AVP
The Marketplace Management Head will be responsible for driving growth, operations, and profitability across online marketplaces (Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Ajio, Tata Cliq, Nykaa, etc. This role requires strong leadership in strategy, P&L management, cross-functional coordination, and deep marketplace expertise to scale business efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Marketplace Strategy & Growth
- Define and execute marketplace strategies to drive growth across Indian platforms.
- Identify opportunities to expand brand presence on emerging marketplaces.
- Develop category-specific strategies to enhance visibility, conversions, and profitability.
- P&L & Revenue Ownership
- Own marketplace P&L including sales, margins, returns, and overall profitability.
- Optimize advertising spends, discounts, and promotions to maximize ROI.
- Drive consistent revenue growth across categories and marketplaces.
- Brand & Account Management
- Build strong relationships with category managers and account managers across marketplaces.
- Negotiate commercials, visibility packages, and promotions to strengthen brand positioning.
- Ensure brand satisfaction through performance tracking, reporting, and growth initiatives.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and mentor a team of marketplace managers/executives.
- Define KPIs, track performance, and ensure execution excellence.
- Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, operations, supply chain, and finance) to deliver results.
- Operations & Compliance
- Oversee catalog management, pricing, inventory planning, and return processes.
- Ensure compliance with marketplace policies, service levels, and operational guidelines.
- Streamline processes for operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Data-Driven Insights & Reporting
- Monitor dashboards for sales, ad performance, visibility, reviews, and ratings.
- Conduct competitor benchmarking and consumer trend analysis.
- Share periodic reports with leadership on growth, opportunities, and challenges.
Key Skills & Requirements:
- Proven track record in revenue growth, ROI optimization, forecasting, pricing, and P&L management.
- Strong exposure to Fashion & Apparel, Beauty & Personal Care, Lifestyle, and D2C brands.
- Hands-on experience in managing Amazon India, Flipkart, Myntra, Ajio, Tata Cliq, Nykaa, or similar marketplaces (mandatory).
- Demonstrated team management and leadership capabilities.
- Prior agency-side experience managing multiple brands is preferred.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, data analytics, and marketplace advertising tools.
