Role Overview:

The Chief Actuary serves as a pivotal member of the executive leadership team, providing strategic oversight for all actuarial functions, pricing frameworks, and solvency management. In this capacity, you will collaborate closely with the Board of Directors, the Chief Financial Officer, and regulatory bodies to ensure the company's financial health and risk appetite are aligned. Your work will directly influence the firm's profitability, capital allocation strategies, and competitive positioning in the general insurance market, ensuring that complex risk models translate into actionable business intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Direct the actuarial valuation process to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with statutory requirements set by the IRDAI.

- Oversee the development and refinement of sophisticated pricing models to optimize underwriting profitability across diverse insurance portfolios.

- Manage the Asset Liability Management (ALM) framework to mitigate market risks and ensure the company maintains optimal liquidity and solvency margins.

- Lead the reinsurance strategy by evaluating risk transfer mechanisms and optimizing retention levels to protect the company against catastrophic losses.

- Drive the implementation of advanced risk modeling and catastrophe modeling techniques to enhance the firm's predictive capabilities and risk-adjusted return on capital.

- Provide expert guidance on corporate finance initiatives, including capital planning, dividend policy, and long-term financial forecasting.

- Mentor and lead a high-performing team of actuarial professionals, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous professional development.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in actuarial science, financial modeling, and statistical analysis, backed by a Fellowship qualification from a recognized actuarial body.

- Proven ability to navigate complex regulatory environments, including deep knowledge of Basel norms and local insurance regulations.

- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate intricate actuarial findings into strategic insights for non-technical stakeholders and board members.

- Strong leadership capabilities, with a track record of managing large, cross-functional teams and driving organizational change within the insurance sector.

- Advanced proficiency in data analytics tools and risk management software, with a focus on leveraging technology to improve decision-making accuracy.

- A minimum of 15 to 30 years of progressive experience in the general insurance industry, with a focus on actuarial leadership and risk management.
