
Location: The preferred location for this role is Shanghai, the regional HQ for Asia Pacific. Gurgaon may also be considered.
Work Timing: Key stakeholders will be based in China, India, and other ASEAN countries. Once or twice a week, meetings may be scheduled with global stakeholders based in Akron, Ohio (our global HQ), so work timings may need to be adjusted accordingly.
Reporting: Director HR, Manufacturing and Supply Chain, Asia Pacific (based in Shanghai).
Work Environment: Hybrid, with at least 3 days per week in the office.
Role Structure: This is an individual contributor role, with no direct reports.
What you will do?:
Partner to the Director HR, Manufacturing and Supply Chain, Asia Pacific:
- Act as the strategic partner to the Director HR, Mfg & SC AP in shaping the people agenda for Manufacturing across Asia Pacific.
- Anticipate emerging people and organization challenges, bringing forward recommendations and practical solutions.
- Establish governance, milestones and success measures to ensure regional priorities are delivered.
Drive Regional HR Excellence:
- Partner closely with Plant HR Managers to consistently deliver the regional people agenda across all manufacturing sites.
- Share best practices, simplify ways of working and build consistency across the region while respecting local business needs.
- Foster collaboration across Plant HR teams, Centres' of Excellence and HR Operations to deliver integrated HR solutions.
Build High-Performing Organizations:
- Partner with manufacturing leaders & Plant HR Managers on organization design, restructuring and workforce planning initiatives.
- Drive leadership development, succession planning and critical talent decisions across the region.
- Strengthen employee engagement, leadership effectiveness and the overall associate experience.
Guide Employee Relations, Compliance & Workforce Governance:
- Support Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) strategy, preparation, negotiations and implementation across relevant sites.
- Provide guidance on workforce governance, ethics, compliance and organizational risk to ensure sound and consistent people decisions.
- Support workforce productivity and cost management initiatives while maintaining a positive employee experience and strong employee relations.
Lead Transformation & Deliver Results:
- Coordinate execution across plants, functions and stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of strategic priorities.
- Use data, insights and governance to monitor progress, identify risks early and drive timely interventions.
- Champion continuous improvement, simplification and innovation to strengthen the impact of HR across Manufacturing.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's/PG Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, Industrial Relations, or related field.
- 10+ years of solid HR experience with significant exposure to organizational design, workplace transformation, succession planning, operational excellence, capability metrics design, change management and labor relations.
- Experience in managing complex and multicultural Manufacturing, Operations and/or Supply Chain Team within the Asia Pacific region.
- Partner with HR, Legal, Labor Relations and leaders to develop and execute labor strategies that support business objectives while managing organizational risk.
- Change Management certification and Project Management certification preferred.
