The indirect sales force comprises of around 2000 sales representatives targeting the rural markets in the interiors of the country. GCPL, with a direct coverage of 7 lakh outlets, indirect reach of 35 lakh outlets covering 27000 villages, is one of the leading FMCG organizations in the country.   - We are market leaders in most of our Core categories- Hair Colour, Household Insecticides & Personal Wash. The key account manager is a pivotal role in modern trade team, working with set of key clients & developing productive long term relationships with customers. This role would report into the Head - Alternate Channels team.   Your role specifications :  The key responsibilities for this role would include :  - Understands business and is able to create & execute growth plans through systematic planning & organizing  - Identifies & quantify 'sources of growth' and build plans accordingly (Focus Areas & Enablers, Annual Plan)  - Effectively looks at both internal and external data sets to make robust growth plans  - Identifies trends from the data, correlate business growth with market intelligence and come out with required inferences  - Develops an ability to plan and execute effective long range sales growth plan  - Leverages trade marketing inputs (schemes/activation) more effectively looking at the investment & opportunity to gain/maximize sales from the channel  - Manages accurate stock planning & logistics (Launch Estimates) and sales forecast at monthly level  - Demonstrates deep understanding of customers, shoppers and competitors  - Develops strong win-win relationships with key retailers and distributors  - Actively engages with Channel Partners and takes necessary action to improve overall quality of service to our partners   - Builds wiring with national and regional retailers and influences to drive initiatives like HHT, Godrej Perfect Store to drive execution.  - Influences channel partners look at the medium to long term picture while ensuring the rightful in-store presence.  - Works closely with key account management; with aim to continuously improve share of shelf vs. competitors and to amplify impact of product visibility on consumers.  Key Account Management :  - Understand retailer dynamics and engage with national and regional retailers to represent GCPL brands strongly.  - Work on a JBP with the retailer to freeze activation calendar, business plan for the year.  - Explore additional events/opportunities for collaboration with the retailer on categories where we- re strong.  - Review performance monthly, ensure hygiene on commercials & fill rate and manage reconciliation with retailers.   - Review MBQs across categories to ensure rightful share of shelf for GCPL   - Develop in-store visibility plans in coordination with local channel partner and follow-up to achieve timely & effective implementation.  - Works closely with Brand, TMM, PSO, and Legal to meet both GCPL and Retailers objective and resolve any conflicts, if any.  - Firmly control terms of trade (TOT) negotiation with customers to create a win-win situation  Skills required :  - Post Graduate degree (MBA) in Sales & marketing from a premier B-school  - Total experience in the range of 2-3 years in Sales (General Trade or Modern Trade)/ Trade Marketing with at least 1 stint in line sales role   - Direct /Indirect on the job exposure to modern trade channel would be a good advantage.   - The incumbent should have strong influencing, negotiation & communication skills with ability to develop people. You should be able to create business solutions, enabling and driving change.  - Deep Analytical and critical thinking skills  - Good interpersonal skills to navigate cross-functional teams  - Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines  - Capable of managing indirect teams  - Proactive planning and priority setting skills  - Ability to thrive in ambiguity & demonstrates high energy, drive & perseverance  - Highly consumer and customer centricity  - Post a strong stint in the KAM role, there will be opportunities to move into trade marketing (category management) roles or smaller brand roles or opportunities with our international businesses depending on interest and aptitude of the individual.
