Global Technical Quality Manager - Lubricants

This role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating quality management systems and processes across multiple geographic regions to ensure consistency, compliance and continuous improvement in product or service quality. This role involves working across international teams, maintaining compliance with global standards and regulations, and aligning quality assurance strategies with the overall business objectives of the organization.

Quality Assurance and Control:

- Develop and implement a Quality Management System for lubricants production, ensuring compliance with industry standards (like ISO 9001, ISO 16949, VDA, .)

- Ensuring the quality procedures within the Gulf production facilities

- Creating and harmonizing the global "Gulf Lubricants Quality System"

- Monitor global trends in quality requirements to ensure ongoing compliance

- Standardize quality management systems and processes across the regions to ensure consistent quality control practices

Supplier Quality Management:

- Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure raw materials meet the required quality standards

- Evaluate and monitor supplier performance globally and address quality issues through audits, corrective actions and ongoing monitoring

- Collaborate with the regional technical managers regional quality managers to ensure alignment on quality goals and improvement initiatives.

- Foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvements across all global teams and sites.

Global Audits and Inspections:

- Participate on (or lead) internal and external audits, including regulatory inspections and certifications across all sites. This should also include GOM.

- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of quality documentation and reports for audits.

- Develop and implement action plans to address findings from global audits and inspections.

Risk Management:

- Identify and manage quality risks at a global level, including assessing potential risks in the supply chain, production, and distribution processes.

- Establish global quality risk assessment processes to mitigate the impact of quality issues on the business.

- Ensure disaster recovery and contingency planning for quality control systems globally.

Customer Focus and Complaint Management:

- Ensure global consistency in addressing customer complaints, product recalls, and nonconformance issues.

- Lead global efforts to analyse customer feedback and implement corrective actions to improve product or service quality.

- Collaborate with regional sales and technical service teams to ensure timely resolution of quality issues.

Reporting and Communication

- Develop a global quality report, outlining performance trends, improvement initiatives and risk mitigation plans.

- Ensure consistency and transparent reporting of quality performance across all sites.

- Work closely with cross functional teams including Production, Supply Chain, Technology and Regulations to promote a quality centric culture

- Being the primary point of contact for both, internal and external customers in all quality related issues

Training and Support:

- Lead, mentor and develop regional teams across different geographic regions.

- Design and implement global training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the global quality processes

- Foster a strong culture of quality and continuous improvement across all levels of the organization.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

- Bachelor's degree or higher degree in chemical engineering, chemistry or engineering or a related field

- 5+ years of experience in quality management or quality assurance, preferably within the lubricants or petrochemical industry

- Experience with global Management Systems, manufacturing processes and regulatory compliance.

- Quality certifications are highly desirable (i.e. ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949, VDA 6.3/6.5)

- Familiar with global regulatory standards and continuous improvement activities

- Knowledge of lubricants formulations, production processes and characteristics

- Experience in working with additive suppliers, base oils manufacturers and lubricants development teams

- Experience in leading and managing audits and obtaining product certifications
