Role Overview:

As the Global Payroll Manager - APAC, based in Ahmedabad, you will be the driving force behind ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our employees across the Asia-Pacific region. You will collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and Legal teams, as well as external payroll vendors, to maintain compliance with local regulations and optimize payroll processes. Your expertise will directly impact employee satisfaction, minimize compliance risks, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our global HR operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for all APAC countries, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness for all employees.

- Manage relationships with external payroll vendors across the APAC region, ensuring service level agreements are met and performance is optimized for cost-effectiveness.

- Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures that align with global standards and local regulations, minimizing compliance risks for the organization.

- Lead the implementation and maintenance of payroll systems, including SAP Payroll and other HRIS platforms, to improve efficiency and accuracy of payroll processes.

- Manage expatriate payroll, including tax equalization, hypothetical tax calculations, and reporting, ensuring compliance with global mobility policies.

- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to reconcile payroll data, resolve discrepancies, and prepare accurate financial reports for stakeholders.

- Monitor changes in APAC payroll regulations and implement necessary updates to payroll processes and systems, ensuring ongoing compliance.

- Drive process improvement initiatives to streamline payroll operations, reduce errors, and enhance the employee experience.

- Manage and mentor a team of payroll professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and professional development.

- Serve as a key point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees, managers, and other stakeholders, providing timely and accurate information.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in managing end-to-end payroll processes for multiple countries within the APAC region, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

- Proven ability to interpret and apply APAC payroll regulations, including tax laws, social security requirements, and other statutory obligations.

- Strong proficiency in using SAP Payroll and other HRIS systems to manage payroll data, generate reports, and automate payroll processes.

- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with HR, Finance, Legal, and external vendors.

- Demonstrated ability to manage expatriate payroll, including tax equalization, hypothetical tax calculations, and reporting.

- Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements to streamline payroll operations and enhance the employee experience.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies and compliance issues.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex payroll information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.

- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment, collaborating with colleagues both in-person and remotely.
