Global Indirect Taxation Lead
We are seeking an experienced Global Indirect Taxation Lead to manage and oversee indirect tax compliance, reporting, and operational excellence across USA, EMEA, and APAC regions. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in VAT, GST, Sales & Use Tax, tax technology platforms such as ONESOURCE and Vertex, and have experience leading teams, managing client relationships, and ensuring compliance with global tax regulations.
The role requires a proactive professional who can drive process improvements, support audits, manage stakeholder expectations, and ensure high-quality service delivery while adhering to established SLAs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end indirect tax compliance activities across North America (USA), EMEA, and APAC regions.
- Prepare, review, and file VAT, GST, Sales & Use Tax returns in accordance with local tax regulations.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax filings while maintaining compliance with statutory requirements.
- Monitor changes in global indirect tax laws and assess their impact on business operations.
- Perform and review monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reconciliations.
- Analyze tax data and identify discrepancies between financial systems and tax returns.
- Ensure accuracy of indirect tax accounts and support financial close processes.
- Prepare tax reports, dashboards, and management summaries for leadership review.
- Utilize and administer tax engines such as ONESOURCE and Vertex for indirect tax calculations and compliance.
- Collaborate with ERP and finance teams to optimize tax configurations and improve reporting accuracy.
- Drive automation initiatives to enhance tax processes and reduce manual interventions.
- Support implementation and enhancement of tax technology solutions.
- Coordinate and support internal and external tax audits.
- Respond to tax authority notices, inquiries, and information requests.
- Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all tax filings and transactions.
- Assist in preparing audit-ready tax documentation and reconciliations.
- Drive continuous process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce compliance risks.
- Establish and monitor key performance metrics and operational controls.
- Identify opportunities for standardization and automation across global tax processes.
- Develop and implement best practices for tax operations and governance.
- Review work performed by tax analysts and ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and technical support to junior team members.
- Manage workload allocation and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Conduct quality reviews and maintain high standards of service delivery.
- Collaborate with finance, accounting, procurement, legal, and business teams globally.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Present tax-related insights, risks, and recommendations to senior management.
- Ensure adherence to SLAs and maintain strong client satisfaction levels.

- Hands-on experience with ONESOURCE and/or Vertex.
- Experience managing teams and reviewing tax compliance deliverables.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in Shared Services, Global Capability Centers (GCC), Big 4, or multinational organizations.
- Exposure to tax transformation and automation projects.
- Experience working with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
- Knowledge of ERP-tax integrations and tax process optimization.
