
Key Responsibilities:
1. Research & Innovation:
- Conduct research on advanced PV materials (e.g., perovskites, TOP Con, HJT, tandem cells).
- Explore new solar cell architectures and module design improvements.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to identify innovation opportunities.
2. Product Development:
- Design and develop prototypes of solar cells and modules.
- Optimize manufacturing processes such as wafer production, cell fabrication, lamination, and encapsulation.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and materials engineers to improve overall module performance.
3. Testing & Performance Analysis:
- Perform lab tests on cells, modules, and components (IV curves, thermal cycling, UV exposure, mechanical load tests).
- Analyze degradation mechanisms and reliability issues.
- Use simulation tools (e.g., PVsyst, COMSOL, MATLAB) to model performance and validate designs.
4. Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure new designs meet international PV standards (IEC 61215, IEC 61730, UL).
- Support qualification testing and certification processes.
- Work with QA teams to implement testing protocols and quality improvements.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work with manufacturing teams to transfer new technologies into production.
-Support supply chain teams in material evaluation and vendor assessments.
-Collaborate with product management to align R&D initiatives with market needs.
6. Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare technical reports, research papers, and project documentation.
- Present findings to leadership, engineering teams, and external stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records of experiments, results, and prototypes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Renewable Energy, or related field (PhD preferred for senior roles).
- Strong understanding of semiconductor physics and PV cell technologies.
- Experience with solar cell fabrication, characterization, or module manufacturing
- Familiarity with simulation and analysis tools (e.g., COMSOL, SCAPS, PVsyst, MATLAB).
- Knowledge of PV reliability standards and environmental testing.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and experimental skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Hands-on experience with cleanroom processes (CVD, PVD, lithography, etching, metallization).
- Experience with advanced PV technologies (perovskite, tandem cells, bifacial modules).
- Background in materials characterization (SEM, XRD, Raman, EL/PL imaging).
- Understanding of manufacturing scale-up and process optimization.
