General Manager - Travel Partnerships - Hotel & Travel Partnership

Posted 1 day ago

Location: Bangalore - Work from office, 5 days a week

Role Overview

As GM Travel Partnerships, you will lead the strategy and execution for building and scaling our supply-side travel partner network. You will be responsible for sourcing and managing partnerships across hotels, stays, experience providers, OTAs, Destination Management Companies (DMCs), and other travel-service suppliers across the world.

Your mission: to create a broad, high-quality, high-margin supply base that powers our concierge and recommendation engine - delivering excellent experiences while maximizing profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

- Partnership Strategy & Supply Network Development: Define and execute the roadmap for partner acquisition covering hotels, b2b aggregators, stays, experiences, DMCs, OTAs - ensuring coverage across geographies and customer segments (luxury, mid, niche, offbeat, experience-based).

- Supplier Onboarding & Commercial Negotiation: Identify prospective partners - evaluate, negotiate and onboard them with favorable commercial terms, margin deals, exclusivity or value-adds; manage contract renewals and supplier allocations to maximize margin and supply quality.

- Partner & Vendor Relationship Management: Build and nurture long-term relationships with suppliers - hotels, experience vendors, DMCs, OTAs, local operators - ensuring service reliability, priority access for our customers, and continuous collaboration.

- Supply Performance & Commercial Metrics Management: Monitor and evaluate partner performance: utilization, fulfillment quality, margin per booking, inventory availability. Identify under-performing suppliers; drive optimization or replacement as needed to maintain supply quality and profitability.

- Market & Competitive Intelligence: Continuously track travel-market trends, supply-side dynamics, pricing changes, competitor offerings - to anticipate demand, identify new partnership opportunities, and keep our supply competitive.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Content, Operations, Concierge, and Data teams to ensure supply aligns with demand - that our offerings map correctly to recommendation engine and customer needs.

- Strategic Growth & Margin Optimization: Shape supply mix and contractual terms to balance cost, quality, exclusivity - optimizing both margin per booking and overall supply value for customers and business.

- Team Leadership & Partner Operations: Build and lead a partnerships team responsible for sourcing, contracting, vendor management, renewals and supply-side operations. Define processes, SLAs, performance metrics, and ensure the supply function scales as the company grows.

Candidate Profile

- Significant experience (ideally 6+ years) in travel-industry partnerships, supplier management, hotel contracting, OTA/DMC/vendor ecosystems, or travel-supply operations.

- Proven track record of negotiation, contracting, supplier/vendor management, commercial deal structuring with hotels, DMCs, OTAs or experience providers.

- Strong networks in travel / hospitality / vendor ecosystems (or ability to build them) in India and/or international markets.

- Strategic mindset and commercial acumen: able to manage margins, supplier economics, and supply-demand alignment; good understanding of revenue management and profitability metrics.

- Data-driven approach: able to monitor partner performance, supply utilization, margin analytics, and use insights to drive decisions and improvements.

- Strong stakeholder management & cross-functional collaboration skills: work with product, content, operations, concierge, sales and data teams.

- Leadership and team-building skills: capable of building a partnerships function from scratch - defining processes, SLAs, performance metrics, and scaling operations.

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and managing complexities of supply-side travel business (multiple geographies, vendor types, contract negotiations, volume fluctuations).

What Success Looks Like

Your success in this role will be evident when the supply-side network you build delivers broad, diversified and reliable coverage - across hotels, stays, experiences, DMCs, OTAs - while generating strong commercial value and healthy margins.

You'll deliver a high share of customer requests fulfilled via partnered supply, even during peak demand and in lesser-known destinations. Suppliers will perform reliably: timely fulfillment, correct rates and inclusions, and positive customer feedback. You'll grow the partner ecosystem consistently - adding new high-quality partners, renewing and expanding existing relationships - all while maintaining margin discipline and supply quality.
