About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced General Manager - Technical Program Management to lead large-scale AI, platform, and enterprise transformation initiatives in the e-commerce and marketplace domain.

This leader will drive strategic, cross-functional programs from concept to execution, partnering closely with Engineering, Product, Data Science, Security, Infrastructure, and Business teams to achieve measurable outcomes.

The ideal candidate blends deep technical acumen with executive program leadership, possessing a proven track record of managing enterprise-scale systems, AI/ML platform implementations, and complex digital transformations in high-growth marketplace environments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Program Leadership:

- Define and execute the roadmap for enterprise-wide AI and digital transformation initiatives tailored for e-commerce and marketplace operations.

- Lead large-scale cross-functional programs across Engineering, Product, Data, Security, Infrastructure, and Business Operations.

- Translate business strategy into clear execution roadmaps with concrete milestones, dependency mapping, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

- Establish governance structures, review cadences, and operating mechanisms across portfolio programs.

- Drive prioritization decisions across competing business objectives and resource constraints.

2. AI & Platform Transformation:

- Partner with Engineering and Data Science teams to launch and scale AI-powered products (e.g., Generative AI, RAG-based search, recommendation engines, and intelligent automation).

- Lead Build vs. Buy evaluations for platform tech investments.

- Establish robust AI governance, data privacy, security, and compliance frameworks.

- Drive organization-wide adoption of emerging AI technologies through structured change management.

3. Program Execution & Operational Excellence:

- Maintain single-threaded oversight on program portfolios with complete visibility into risks, budgets, timelines, and dependencies.

- Implement health-monitoring mechanisms and frameworks to ensure delivery quality and business impact.

- Identify and mitigate delivery, operational, security, and platform scalability risks proactively.

- Track and optimize operational metrics, execution velocity, and overall program predictability.

4. Executive Management & Stakeholder Alignment:

- Partner directly with VP, SVP, and C-level executives to define priorities and secure strategic alignment.

- Influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders without direct authority.

- Deliver continuous executive updates, business cases, investment proposals, and risk assessments to senior leadership.

5. TPM Leadership & Organizational Impact:

- Build, scale, and mentor the Technical Program Management (TPM) function across the organization.

- Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and high accountability.

- Establish sustainable operating models that standardise TPM best practices at scale.

Required Qualifications:

- Domain Expertise: 14 - 18 years of overall experience, with a mandatory background in E-commerce or Marketplace platforms.

- Proven experience in TPM leadership, Engineering Program Management, or Product Delivery leading large enterprise transformation programs.

- Solid understanding of distributed systems, cloud platforms, software architecture, and modern e-commerce technology stacks.

- Experience delivering AI/ML platforms, GenAI applications, vector databases, search/recommendation systems, or data platforms.

- Track record of building governance frameworks, operating models, and organizational standards.

- Executive communication, strategic decision-making, and high-impact stakeholder management skills.

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Prior experience managing and mentoring a team of Technical Program Managers / TPM Managers.

- Deep exposure to enterprise AI governance, LLM applications, semantic search, and RAG architectures.

- Advanced degree (MBA or M.Tech) from a tier-1 institute.
