General Manager - Supply Chain Management Head - Import Desk - Import Trading/Chemical/Pharma Industry

We are looking forward for a suitable candidate for the position of Head / GM - Supply Chain Management - Import Desk.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supply Chain Strategy & Leadership

- Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with the companys business objectives and customer commitments.

- Lead and mentor teams across Materials & Planning, Order Processing & Customer Service, and Warehouse Operations.

- Partner with Sales and Finance teams to align demand planning, inventory, and service levels.

Materials Management & Planning

- Oversee demand forecasting and inventory planning to ensure optimal stock levels for all excipient product lines.

- Monitor lead times, shelf life, and product traceability to ensure quality and compliance.

- Review inventory health regularly and implement measures to minimize slow-moving and obsolete stock.

Order Processing & Customer Service

- Ensure seamless order-to-delivery processes with accuracy, speed, and compliance.

- Oversee customer order handling, invoicing, and documentation.

- Maintain service excellence by ensuring proactive communication, accurate documentation, and quick resolution of customer queries..

Warehouse & Logistics Operations

- Oversee warehouse operations to ensure efficient material handling, space utilization, and safety compliance.

- Maintain adherence to GDP (Good Distribution Practices) and internal quality standards.

- Optimize logistics operations to balance cost, delivery performance, and customer requirements.

- Maintain robust inventory controls, periodic audits, and safety compliance.

Systems, Governance & Reporting

- Ensure effective use of ERP systems for planning, tracking, and reporting supply chain performance.

- Define and monitor KPIs across functional areas (inventory turns, OTIF, order accuracy, etc.).

- Review performance data, identify gaps, and implement process improvement initiatives.

- Ensure full compliance with internal audit, EHS, and regulatory guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Experience

- 12+ years of relevant experience in supply chain management, preferably in distribution / Import Trading / Chemical / Pharma Industry.

- Proven leadership experience managing multi-functional supply chain teams.
