Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Supply Chain General Manager to lead our end-to-end supply chain operations within the food industry. This role is responsible for overseeing procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution while ensuring compliance with food safety standards. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in supply chain optimization and have strong leadership skills to drive efficiency, cost control, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supply Chain Strategy & Optimization
- Develop and implement a scalable, agile supply chain strategy aligned with business goals.
- Ensure supply chain operations support rapid product movement, short shelf life, and seasonal demand fluctuations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in sourcing, warehousing, and logistics.
2. Procurement & Supplier Management
- Oversee procurement of raw materials, packaging, and ingredients with a focus on quality, traceability, and cost-efficiency.
- Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships; manage supplier risk and performance.
- Ensure ethical and sustainable sourcing practices aligned with food industry regulations.
3. Food Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all supply chain operations comply with national and international food safety standards (FSSAI, HACCP, ISO 22000, etc.).
- Partner with QA/QC teams to maintain product quality and safety throughout the supply chain.
- Manage traceability systems for product recall readiness and regulatory audits.
4. Logistics & Domestic distribution
- Optimize transportation routes and manage last mile connectivity with finished products at customer site
- Ensure integrity of the cold chain for temperature-sensitive products across storage and transit.
- Reduce spoilage, product loss, and logistics costs through innovative solutions and partnerships.
5. Demand Planning, Inventory Control
- Lead S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) to align production, supply, and demand forecasts.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to support customer needs while minimizing waste and holding costs.
- Leverage data-driven forecasting tools to improve accuracy and responsiveness.
6. Team Leadership & Development
- Build and manage a high-performing supply chain team across procurement, planning, logistics, and warehousing.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.
- Train and mentor team members to build internal capability and succession pipelines
