General Manager - Supply Chain - Automobile

Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced GM - Supply Chain to lead end-to-end supply chain operations, including demand & supply planning, procurement, inventory management, logistics, warehousing, supplier management and customer deliveries. The role will focus on improving service levels, optimizing working capital, reducing supply-chain costs and driving process excellence. These are common responsibilities in current AGM-level SCM roles.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead end-to-end Supply Chain Management covering planning, procurement, stores, warehousing, logistics and dispatch.

- Develop and drive demand and supply planning aligned with business and production requirements.

- Lead S&OP / monthly supply planning process with Sales, Production, Finance and Operations.

- Ensure timely availability of raw materials, components and finished goods.

- Drive strategic sourcing, supplier development and vendor management.

- Monitor supplier performance on Quality, Cost, Delivery and Responsiveness (QCDR).

- Develop alternate/local suppliers and mitigate material shortage and supply risks.

- Optimize inventory through safety stock, reorder levels, MOQ, EOQ, ABC analysis and ageing control.

- Manage inbound and outbound logistics, transportation and freight-cost optimization.

- Lead warehouse/stores operations and ensure inventory accuracy and process compliance.

- Drive working-capital optimization and reduction of excess/slow-moving inventory.

- Identify and implement cost-reduction and productivity improvement initiatives.

- Establish SCM KPIs, dashboards and MIS covering OTIF, inventory turns, forecast accuracy, supplier performance, logistics cost and material availability.

- Drive ERP/SAP-based SCM processes, automation and data-driven decision making.

- Develop SOPs and ensure compliance with company policies and quality systems.

- Lead, mentor and develop the Supply Chain / Procurement / Logistics team.

- Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, Sales, Finance and Customer teams to resolve supply-chain issues.

Candidate Profile :

- Graduate in Engineering / Commerce / Supply Chain / Operations; MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain or Operations preferred.

- 12-18 years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

- Strong experience in Supply Chain Planning, Procurement, Inventory, Logistics and Warehouse Management.

- Exposure to S&OP, demand forecasting and supply planning.

- Strong vendor negotiation and supplier-development experience.

- Good knowledge of SAP/ERP, Advanced Excel and MIS/Power BI.

- Strong understanding of inventory optimization and working-capital management.

- Excellent leadership, analytical, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
