General Manager - Solar Operations

Role Overview

- We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic professional GM Solar Operations to lead and manage the entire Solar Business Operations across Africa and surrounding regions.

- The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing solar project execution, battery installation, procurement, and cross-functional coordination.

- This leadership role is pivotal in driving growth, ensuring operational excellence, and expanding the companys footprint in the solar energy market.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

- Lead and oversee the entire solar business operations across Africa, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and alignment with business goals.

- Drive expansion into new market areas and enhance the companys operational base.

Project Execution

- Supervise the execution of solar projects at multiple sites, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and budget adherence.

- Coordinate end-to-end project life cycles, from design to commissioning.

Battery Installations

- Ensure smooth execution of battery installations at all relevant sites; hands-on experience in battery systems is mandatory.

- Troubleshoot and resolve battery system-related issues to ensure seamless integration and functionality.

Procurement & Design

- Manage procurement for ongoing and upcoming solar projects, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.

- Collaborate with engineering teams for the design and optimization of solar power systems.

Stakeholder Management

- Liaise with local and international partners, vendors, and government bodies for project facilitation and regulatory compliance.

- Represent the company in external engagements and presentations.

Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in solar energy project management and business operations.

- Proven track record of handling large-scale solar installations including battery storage solutions.

- Strong experience in procurement, vendor management, and site execution.

- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential.

Technical & Soft Skills

- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and MS Project.

- Strong project planning and presentation skills.

- Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-cultural team management skills.

- High level of adaptability, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Education: B.E/B.Tech Electrical

Candidate should have experience working in Solar Segment (Mandatory)
