Client is a fast-growing chemical Manufacturing, distribution and trading company with a specialized focus on the Water Treatment and Process Chemical sectors. Backed by a strong technical foundation and manufacturing support from our Paper and Pulp chemical plant in Vapi, Gujarat, we deliver sustainable and innovative solutions to customers across various industrial segments in India.


Role Summary


We are seeking a dynamic and result-driven General Manager Water & Process to lead our Indian operations. This role holds full P&L responsibility and will be instrumental in scaling the business through strategic leadership, commercial excellence, and team development. The ideal candidate will have deep industry knowledge, a strong customer network, and the ability to channel sales efforts to leverage our Vapi production unit.


Key Responsibilities


1. Strategic & P&L Leadership


- Lead the overall business operations and growth strategy for the Water & Process division in India.

- Own and drive the P&L for the division, ensuring profitability, sustainable revenue generation, and cost control.

- Translate corporate objectives into actionable regional sales and operational plans.


2. Business Development & Market Expansion


- Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities across West, East, North, and South India.

- Develop and implement go-to-market strategies, sales targets, and key account plans.

- Grow the distribution and trading portfolio in line withclient strengths in water treatment and process chemicals.

- Ensure proper focus on Paper and Pulp chemicals, leveraging the Vapi production facility.


3. Sales Leadership


- Lead and support the existing team


4. Operational Efficiency


- Coordinate with internal teams to streamline supply chain, distribution, and customer service processes.

- Align plant capacity at Vapi with market demand to ensure optimum production utilization.

- Ensure robust compliance with industry regulations, safety, and ethical practices.


5. Relationship Management


- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers, OEMs, suppliers, and channel partners.

- Leverage personal and professional networks to open doors and drive business growth across multiple regions.


Candidate Profile


Education:


- B.E. / B.Tech in Chemical Engineering or M.Sc. in Chemistry (preferred)

- MBA or equivalent qualification would be an added advantage


Experience:


- 18-20 years of progressive experience in the Chemical industry, particularly in Water Treatment and Process Chemicals

- Proven track record in P&L management, business development, and leading cross-regional teams

- Strong network and market intelligence in West, East, North, and South India
