About the Job:
Are you a seasoned sales leader with a proven track record in the transformer oil, lubricants, and specialty oils industry? Do you thrive on building high-performing teams and exceeding ambitious sales targets? We're a leading manufacturer in the sector, and we're looking for a General Manager (GM) Sales to spearhead our growth in either the East Zone (Assam, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar) or West Zone (Mumbai, Ahmedabad/Baroda, Silvassa).
This is a pivotal role for a strategic and dynamic individual ready to drive significant market expansion and revenue generation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve and exceed regional sales targets for transformer oil, lubricants, specialty oils, and other company products.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, expanding market share and customer base within the assigned zone.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients, distributors, and stakeholders.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities and refine sales approaches.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, production, and technical teams to ensure seamless product delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance reviews to senior management.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively to optimize sales operations.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and ethical sales practices.
Qualifications:
- 10-12 years of progressive sales experience in the transformer oil, lubricants, and/or specialty oils industry, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role managing a sales team.
- MBA is required.
- Proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful sales strategies.
- Strong leadership, team-building, and coaching skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of the East or West Zone market (depending on the assigned zone), including customer segments, competitive landscape, and regulatory environment.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned zone
