Job Title: General Manager - Sales Business Size: - 600 Cr Reporting to: Business Director - Pharma Location: Bangalore Reported by: a team of AGMs, State Managers, Divisional Managers, Regional Managers and Medical Representative Mandatory Requirements: 1. Candidate should be &lt; 50 yrs of age 2. Candidate should be managing a large portfolio of atleast 300Cr in general therapy / mass portfolio Key Responsibility Areas: 1. Business & Revenue Growth - Drive achievement of annual revenue, growth, and market share targets across geographies. - Develop and execute national sales strategy aligned to business goals and therapeutic focus areas. - Identify and tap into new market opportunities and customer segments to expand business footprint. 2. Sales Planning & Execution - Create and monitor sales plans, beat plans, and monthly targets for all field force tiers (AGMs, ZMs, RMs, SMs, MRs). - Track primary, secondary, and tertiary sales and ensure healthy inventory rotation and channel hygiene. - Drive Rx generation, product penetration, and customer coverage across assigned therapeutic areas. 3. Channel and Distribution Management - Strengthen and optimize distribution network, CFA operations, and trade partner relationships. - Ensure availability, visibility, and reach of products in all key markets. - Design and implement effective trade schemes, incentives, and merchandising programs. 4. Team Leadership & Capability Building - Lead, mentor, and motivate a large field sales team including frontline managers and representatives. - Drive performance through regular reviews, coaching, recognition, and field-working discipline. - Design and implement learning & development plans to upskill the sales team. 5. Product & Portfolio Management - Collaborate with marketing and medical teams on product lifecycle planning, launches, and field execution. - Provide market insights for product positioning, campaign design, and brand building. - Ensure promotional inputs, scientific communication, and sales narratives are effectively implemented. 6. Market Intelligence & Competitive Strategy - Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends, market dynamics, and customer feedback. - Adjust field strategies based on real-time insights to maintain leadership position. - Identify and mitigate market risks or disruptions proactively. 7. Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with Supply Chain, Marketing, Medical, Finance, HR, and Compliance to ensure end-to-end alignment. - Support S&OP processes and ensure accurate demand forecasting. - Ensure adherence to regulatory norms, SOPs, and ethical selling practices. 8. Digital & Analytics Integration - Leverage digital tools (CRM, SFE, dashboards) to drive data-based decision-making and performance tracking. - Improve field force productivity through analytics, automation, and digital engagement initiatives. 9. Reporting & Governance - Provide timely and accurate business performance reports to leadership. - Conduct quarterly business reviews, market visits, and leadership updates with actionable insights.
