Description: The Head Public Policy will lead the development and implementation of the hospitals public policy, government relations, and advocacy strategy in Hyderabad and at the state/national level. This leader will monitor healthcare policy developments, build strategic relationships with government and regulatory bodies, and represent the hospitals interests with policymakers, stakeholders, and industry associations. The role ensures that policy decisions and regulatory outcomes align with the hospitals mission of delivering high-quality, accessible healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

1. Policy Strategy & Analysis

- Develop and drive a proactive public policy and government relations strategy aligned with the hospitals goals and healthcare priorities.

- Monitor and interpret local/state/national healthcare policies, legislation, regulatory changes and assess impact on hospital operations and community health delivery.

- Provide strategic advice to senior leadership on policy risks, opportunities, and recommended positioning.

2. Government & Stakeholder Engagement

- Establish and maintain effective relationships with policymakers, regulators, government health departments, and industry bodies relevant to healthcare in Telangana and at the national level.

- Represent the hospital at policy consultations, government forums, and multi-stakeholder discussions where healthcare policy direction is shaped.

3. Advocacy & Policy Development

- Lead development of policy positions, briefs, submissions, consultation responses, and advocacy materials that reflect the hospitals stance on key healthcare issues.

- Engage with publicprivate partnership initiatives and health sector reforms affecting service delivery, financing, and regulation.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Work closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., clinical, compliance, legal, communications) to ensure policy alignment across functions and effective implementation of advocacy priorities.

- Translate complex policy issues into actionable guidance for internal teams.

5. Thought Leadership & Communication

- Act as a spokesperson for the hospital on policy matters with external stakeholders.

- Drive communication of policy developments within the hospital through reports, briefings and presentations.

6. Team Leadership

- Build, lead and mentor the public policy and government affairs team.

- Foster a collaborative culture that supports professional development and high performance.

Education

Masters degree (public policy, public health, health administration, law, or equivalent).

Experience

- Minimum of 10+ years experience in public policy, government relations, healthcare advocacy, or related roles, preferably in healthcare, public sector, or regulated industries.

- Demonstrated experience influencing policy decisions and shaping engagement strategies with government stakeholders.
