Role Overview:

The GM Projects role is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from conceptualization and planning to execution and commissioning, for projects. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, finance, and operations, as well as external stakeholders such as government agencies, contractors, and landowners. The GM Projects ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, contributing directly to the company's growth and sustainability objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement comprehensive project management plans, encompassing scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation, to ensure successful project delivery.

- Manage the entire CAPEX budget for assigned projects, ensuring cost control and adherence to financial targets, to maximize project profitability.

- Oversee the procurement process, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and material management, to secure the best value and minimize supply chain risks.

- Lead contract management activities, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and resolving disputes effectively, to protect the company's interests.

- Identify and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans and implementing risk management strategies, to minimize potential disruptions.

- Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and stakeholders, providing clear and concise updates on progress, challenges, and opportunities, to maintain transparency and alignment.

- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, landowners, and community representatives, to ensure project support and smooth execution.

- Provide leadership and mentorship to the project team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement, to enhance team performance.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations, promoting a safe and sustainable work environment, to protect employees and the environment.

- Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and methodologies, implementing best practices and lessons learned, to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale projects from inception to completion.

- Proven expertise in project finance, budgeting, and cost control, with a strong understanding of financial modeling and investment analysis.

- Excellent contract management and negotiation skills, with experience in drafting and administering complex contracts.

- Strong understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management, with the ability to source materials and equipment at competitive prices.

- Exceptional risk management skills, with the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks effectively.

- Superior stakeholder communication and management skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.

- Excellent team leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, or Civil) or a related field. A Master's degree in Business Administration or Project Management is a plus.

- Adaptability to work in Pune and travel to project locations as required.
