General Manager - Plant Safety (22-28 yrs)
Mandate:
Only candidates currently managing Safety functions from manufacturing plant locations will be considered.
Corporate office-based profiles will not be preferred.JOB Location - Boisar Qualification:- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Engineering with a specialization/certification in Industrial Safety.
- Additional certifications in NEBOSH, IOSH, Fire & Safety, or ISO standards will be preferred.
Experience:- 19+ years of experience in Safety Management within Manufacturing/Heavy Engineering/Steel Industry.
- Must have hands-on experience in plant safety operations along with managing safety functions for
multiple manufacturing plants.- Experience in Steel Manufacturing, Fabrication, Heavy Engineering, or similar industries will be highly preferred.
Skills Required:- Strong knowledge of Factory Act, HSE standards, safety audits, and risk assessment practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and team coordination skills.
- Ability to drive safety transformation and implement centralized safety governance across multiple plants.
Role Overview:We are looking for an experienced and strategic General Manager - Safety to lead and strengthen the Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) function across multiple Steel Tower Manufacturing Plants in India. The role will be responsible for driving a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, minimizing operational risks, and implementing best-in-class safety practices across all plant locations.
The ideal candidate should have extensive hands-on experience in manufacturing plant safety management and the capability to centrally manage and monitor safety operations of multiple plants from the base plant location.
Key Responsibilities: Plant & Multi-Location Safety Management:- Lead and oversee all safety operations for steel tower manufacturing plants across India.
- Drive implementation of standardized HSE policies, systems, and procedures across all plant locations.
- Monitor plant safety performance, compliance status, and corrective action plans.
Safety Compliance & Risk Management:- Ensure compliance with all statutory safety regulations, factory laws, ISO standards, and environmental norms.
- Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, safety audits, and incident investigations.
- Develop preventive and corrective safety measures to minimize accidents and unsafe practices.
Safety Culture & Training:- Build and promote a strong safety culture across all manufacturing units.
- Conduct regular safety trainings, mock drills, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to safe operating procedures.
Plant Operations Support:- Work closely with plant heads, production teams, maintenance, and project teams to ensure safe manufacturing operations.
- Review new projects, machinery installations, and process modifications from a safety perspective.
- Support plants in achieving operational excellence through safe work practices.
Reporting & Leadership:- Prepare MIS reports, safety dashboards, incident analysis, and compliance reports for management review.
- Lead and mentor plant safety teams across locations.
- Coordinate with government authorities, auditors, and external agencies during inspections and audits.
