Brief summary on the role:

The position will be responsible for heading the Plant Operations of all units at Jejuri. As part of lateral growth, he will be involved in new manufacturing set ups, product diversification projects, expansion projects etc. and in due course will be promoted as Head - Manufacturing for all units.

Roles and responsibilities:

- Oversee plant operations to achieve high productivity, consistent quality, safe practices, and cost efficiency through robust planning and disciplined execution.

- Drive new product development and industrialization initiatives in collaboration with engineering, quality, and customer teams.

- Champion continuous improvement by implementing Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and TQM to reduce cycle times, eliminate waste, and enhance value creation.

- Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations, quality benchmarks, and EHS standards across all operational areas.

- Lead HR and IR functions, including union negotiations, grievance handling, discipline management, and fostering a culture of engagement and performance.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as SCM, Sales, and Finance to ensure smooth coordination and alignment with overall business objectives.

- Contribute to strategic projects including automation, digital transformation, and capacity expansion (greenfield and brownfield initiatives).

Desired Education, Experience and Competencies:

- B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical/Production/Industrial) with MBA/PGDM preferred.

- 20+ years in plant operations/works management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in heavy fabrication/steel fabrication industry.

- Strong knowledge of EN/AWS/ASME codes, industrial standards, and export quality norms.

- Proven track record in cost optimization, operations excellence, and EHS compliance.

- Hands-on expertise in Lean, 5S, Kaizen, TPM, and digital transformation initiatives.

- Excellent leadership & people management skills, including handling of IR and labor union engagements.

Key Skills:

1. Technical & Industry Knowledge

- Strong expertise in structural steel fabrication processes

- Proficiency in international codes & standards (EN, AWS, ASME)

- Knowledge of bulk material handling systems, gratings, handrails, and fabricated structures

- Understanding of export quality assurance & documentation

2. Operations & Cost Management

- Plant operations leadership (end-to-end responsibility for production, quality, cost, and safety)

- Proven ability in cost management, process optimization, and productivity enhancement

- Expertise in inventory planning and control

- Hands-on experience in supply chain coordination and plant logistics

3. Continuous Improvement & Technology

- Deep knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and TQM

- Exposure to digital transformation, plant automation, and ERP/MRP systems

- Strong orientation toward process innovation and efficiency improvement

4. Compliance & Governance

- Strong understanding of EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) regulations

- Proven track record in ensuring statutory compliance, audits, and factory regulations

- Ability to maintain high standards of product quality and international certifications

5. Leadership & People Management

- Proven experience in HR & IR management, including union negotiations and labor law compliance

- Strong team leadership, mentoring, and succession planning skills

- Ability to drive employee engagement, motivation, and performance culture

- Competence in conflict resolution and grievance handling

6. Strategic & Business Acumen

- Experience in greenfield/brownfield projects and capacity expansions

- Ability to align plant performance with business growth targets (CAGR, turnover, profitability)

- Strong cross-functional collaboration with SCM, Sales, Finance, and Project teams

- Strategic thinking for new product development and industrialization
