General Manager Operations & Maintenance (Captive Power Plant)

Role Summary:

The General Manager Operations & Maintenance will be responsible for the safe, reliable and cost-effective operation of the Captive Power Plant, ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the Steel Melting Shop (SMS) and Rolling Mill. The role will drive operational excellence through high plant availability, maintenance reliability, energy efficiency, cost optimization and statutory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead end-to-end Operations & Maintenance of the Captive Power Plant.

- Ensure maximum plant availability, reliability and operational efficiency through effective preventive, predictive and shutdown maintenance.

- Monitor and improve key performance indicators such as PLF, equipment availability, specific power consumption and maintenance reliability.

- Drive energy optimization, continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.

- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and statutory regulations.

- Coordinate with SMS, Induction Furnace and Rolling Mill operations to ensure uninterrupted production.

- Lead and develop high-performing O&M teams while fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence.

Candidate Profile:

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

- 20+ years of experience in Operations & Maintenance of Captive/Thermal Power Plants, preferably within integrated steel manufacturing.

- Hands-on exposure to Induction Furnace-based SMS, Rolling Mill and TMT/Rebar manufacturing is essential.

- Strong knowledge of power plant operations, utilities, maintenance planning, reliability engineering and energy management.

- Proven leadership experience in managing large multidisciplinary teams in a 247 manufacturing environment.

- Preference will be given to Marathi speaking candidates
