POSITION DETAILS:

Position General Manager - MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing)

Location - Head Office (Mumbai)

Department Projects/Grade LM1

Reports To Head - Project Management and Engineering

Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Experience 15 years

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

To lead the design, planning, and execution of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems for greenfield mall development projects, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, adherence to budgets, and integration of sustainable, energy-efficient solutions. The role will drive technical excellence from concept to commissioning, collaborating with architects, consultants, and contractors to deliver world-class, future-ready mall infrastructure that supports operational efficiency and enhances tenant and customer experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Provide strategic direction and ensure compliance with local regulations, codes, and safety standards across all MEP design and execution activities.

- Lead collaboration with architects, consultants, and contractors to conceptualise, design, and deliver integrated MEP systems aligned with project objectives.

- Establish and oversee inspection protocols and quality assurance processes to ensure timely identification and resolution of issues during project execution.

- Develop and monitor cost estimates, budgets, and timelines for MEP works, ensuring projects are delivered within budget and with optimal resource utilisation.

- Offer technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to project teams and ensure effective knowledge transfer to operations/maintenance staff.

- Champion adoption of energy-efficient technologies and sustainable practices to meet organisational and environmental goals.

- Track industry trends and emerging technologies in MEP systems to drive continuous innovation and long-term asset value.

- Present regular progress reports, technical documentation, and updates to senior management and external stakeholders

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

- Minimum 15 years in a professional engineering firm /Retail project developer

- Professional certification in MEP systems or a related field is preferred.

- Design Software Proficiency: Familiarity with tools like AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.

- Project management skills, LEED AP is preferred
