Position: General Manager - Mechanical Maintenance

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

- In-depth knowledge of Maintenance in the Integrated Steel Plant, including DRP, MBF, SMS, Rolling Mill, Wire Rod Mill, Blooming Mill, Bright Bar, Annealing and Pickling Plants along with Hydraulic and Pneumatics.

- Having in-depth knowledge of the installation and commissioning of a new integrated steel plant is a specialized and valuable skill set in the steel manufacturing industry.

- Provide leadership and strategic direction to the mechanical department, overseeing all activities related to mechanical maintenance, repairs, and improvements in the steel plant.

- Manage and optimize mechanical processes to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of machinery, equipment, and systems within the plant.

- Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring cost control and efficient resource allocation.

- Plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.

- Recruit, train, and manage a skilled team of engineers, technicians, and support staff, fostering a culture of safety and excellence.

- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in mechanical operations to maintain a safe working environment.

- Maintain a comprehensive inventory of equipment and ensure their proper functioning and timely replacements or upgrades.

- Ensure that mechanical operations meet quality standards and contribute to the production of high-quality steel products.

- Identify and implement process improvements and modernization initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.

- Ensure that mechanical operations adhere to environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
