We are seeking an entrepreneurial and commercially driven General Manager - India Operations to establish, lead, and expand the organization's presence in India.

The role will be responsible for driving business development, managing key customer relationships, overseeing local operations, and acting as the primary interface between the India market and global leadership teams.

The ideal candidate will possess strong experience within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refining, EPC, or Industrial Equipment sectors, with a proven track record of developing business opportunities, managing strategic accounts, and building scalable operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute the India growth strategy aligned with the organization's global business objectives.

- Identify, pursue, and convert business opportunities across Oil & Gas companies, Refineries, Petrochemical plants, EPC contractors, and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).

- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline from lead generation through proposal submission, negotiation, and order closure.

- Establish and maintain strong relationships with procurement leaders, project managers, engineering teams, and key decision-makers within client organizations.

- Drive revenue growth by identifying new markets, customers, and business partnerships.

- Represent the organization at industry forums, technical discussions, customer meetings, and trade events.

- Prepare and review techno-commercial proposals, quotations, tender submissions, and contract documentation.

- Coordinate closely with global operations, procurement, logistics, and technical teams to ensure timely execution of customer requirements.

- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing strategies, and industry developments to support business planning and market positioning.

- Oversee local operational activities and ensure smooth coordination between customers and internal stakeholders.

- Establish and scale India operations, including office setup, process development, and team expansion as business grows.

- Recruit, mentor, and manage local teams to support business growth and operational excellence.

- Provide regular business updates, sales forecasts, pipeline reviews, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

- Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

- 14-22 years of experience in Business Development, Sales Leadership, Operations Management, or Country Management roles.

- Strong experience within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial Equipment, EPC, Engineering Services, Process Industries, or related sectors.

- Proven track record of managing large accounts and securing business from major industrial customers and government organizations.

- Strong understanding of tendering processes, techno-commercial proposals, contract negotiations, and project-based sales.

- Experience managing cross-functional coordination involving procurement, logistics, engineering, and project delivery teams.

- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive revenue growth and profitability.

- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and relationship-building capabilities.

- Strong leadership skills with experience building and managing high-performing teams.

- Excellent communication, presentation, and business planning skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Engineering degree (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related discipline); MBA preferred.

- Existing network within Oil & Gas companies, Refineries, Petrochemical organizations, EPC contractors, and PSUs.

- Experience working with global organizations and international stakeholders.
