Job Description - General Manager / India Head - Industrial Coatings
Role Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced professional to lead our Industrial Coatings business in India. The incumbent will be responsible for driving profitable growth, strengthening market presence, developing strategic customer relationships, expanding channel networks, and building a high-performance organization. The role requires deep understanding of industrial coatings, B2B sales, technical solutions, business development, and operational leadership. B2B sales experience will be preferred.
Candidates from related industries such as lubricants, industrial chemicals, auto components, adhesives, specialty chemicals, engineering products, or industrial consumables may also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and drive the overall Industrial Coatings business strategy for India.
- Develop annual business plans, revenue targets, profitability goals, and market expansion strategies.
- Drive sales growth across OEMs, industrial customers, channel partners, and key accounts.
- Identify new business opportunities, emerging segments, and high-potential markets.
- Build strong relationships with large industrial customers, consultants, and strategic partners.
- Lead pricing strategy, product positioning, and market penetration initiatives.
- Coordinate closely with technical, operations, supply chain, finance, and marketing teams for seamless execution.
- Strengthen distribution and dealer networks across regions.
- Drive customer retention, service excellence, and complaint resolution mechanisms.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to formulate proactive strategies.
- Ensure achievement of EBITDA, working capital, and cash flow objectives.
- Build and mentor high-performing sales and technical teams across India.
- Drive business governance, reporting systems, reviews, and operational discipline.
- Represent the organization in key industry forums, exhibitions, and customer engagements.

Desired Candidate Profile
- Minimum 20+ years of experience in Industrial Coatings or related B2B industries such as lubricants, specialty chemicals, industrial consumables, auto parts, engineering products, or allied sectors.
- Strong understanding of industrial sales, OEM business, channel management, and customer engagement.
- Proven track record of leading large business portfolios and delivering profitable growth.
- Strong commercial acumen with strategic thinking capability.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and team management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and performance-driven environment.
- Strong analytical and business planning capabilities.
- Exposure to pan-India business operations preferred.
Educational Qualification
- Graduate in Engineering, Chemistry, Commerce, or related discipline.
- MBA or equivalent management qualification preferred.
