The Role:
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Oversight & Quality Assurance:
- Provide strategic leadership for the HSE function across the region, ensuring consistent delivery and continual improvement in project quality.
- Oversee and guide quality checks of all deliverables executed by HSE teams; establish performance benchmarks and review mechanisms to maintain high-quality output across audits, reports, and training.
- Lead process standardization and best practices implementation across regional HSE operations.
Client Engagement & Business Development Support:
- Partner closely with the Business Development team to lead high-impact client engagements in the region and adjoining regions.
- Represent the HSE function in strategic client meetings, ensuring alignment of technical and commercial objectives.
- Lead client presentations, proposal pitches, and closure of HSE service contracts with a focus on building long-term partnerships.
Scope Development & Solution Design:
- Review audit reports and create comprehensive scopes of work and tailored way-forward strategies for clients.
- Translate site observations into impactful recommendations and commercial offerings to drive client value and service adoption.
Process Safety & Service Innovation:
- Establish and lead a dedicated Process Safety vertical within the HSE department.
- Design and implement a portfolio of Process Safety service lines in collaboration with technical and commercial teams.
- Drive growth and profitability for the vertical through targeted outreach, innovation, and client value creation.
Team Leadership & Capacity Building:
- Build and manage high-performing HSE teams in the respective region, with clear performance indicators and development pathways.
- Ensure effective deployment of HSE specialists for site audits, training, and long-term contracts.
- Serve as a mentor and capability development leader within the function, especially for senior and mid-level HSE team members.
ESG & Sustainability Integration:
- Collaborate with the ESG team to expand service delivery capabilities; directly manage ESG and BRSR reporting for at least 2 key clients.
- Champion integration of HSE and ESG insights to provide holistic environmental and safety solutions to clients.
Revenue Generation & Client Retention:
- Drive conversion of HSE and Process Safety opportunities worth 3 Cr+ annually from the region.
- Ensure 100% retention of key assigned clients through proactive relationship management and delivery excellence.
- Lead cross-selling efforts including pitching digital solutions like MiSafe and becoming a key promoter for tech-driven HSE management.
Training & Capability Development:
- Act as the Lead Trainer for Behavior-Based Safety (BBS), HSE Management Systems, and leadership training.
- Maintain a trainer rating of 4.7/5 or higher, particularly in engagements with senior management.
- Institutionalize internal training programs to upgrade technical and soft skills within the HSE function.
Administrative & Organizational Alignment:
- Report directly to the CEO and collaborate with other business unit heads to align goals, share insights, and improve interdepartmental efficiency.
- Take up additional responsibilities as assigned by senior leadership in line with organizational growth priorities.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) or related field.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience is must.
- Should have team handling experience.
- Should be flexible to travel.
