Role Purpose:
To lead the commercial and sales strategy, drive revenue growth, expand market share, and build sustainable partnerships in the solar energy sector. The CCO will play a pivotal role in translating the companys vision into actionable go-to-market strategies that strengthen profitability and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Define and execute commercial strategy in alignment with organizational objectives.
- Spearhead new business models including CAPEX/OPEX, solar EPC, rooftop and utility-scale solar projects, and solar-as-a-service.
- Lead strategic pricing, market segmentation, and competitor intelligence.
Revenue & Market Expansion:
- Own revenue targets and P&L for the commercial division.
- Drive customer acquisition across industrial, commercial, and residential segments.
- Expand channel partner ecosystem and third-party collaborations.
- Explore untapped geographies and product diversification opportunities.
Sales Operations & Team Development:
- Build, coach, and lead high-performing sales and business development teams.
- Implement performance metrics, incentive plans, and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho).
- Optimize sales funnel, forecasting accuracy, and customer lifecycle management.
Partnerships & Alliances:
- Forge long-term strategic alliances with EPCs, OEMs, government bodies, and financing institutions.
- Manage vendor and client relationships, ensuring contractual compliance and service excellence.
Policy Advocacy & Industry Representation:
- Liaise with government, DISCOMs, and regulatory authorities to influence favorable policies and participate in solar tenders and initiatives.
- Represent the company at industry forums, renewable energy summits, and investor briefings.
Key Requirements:
- Education: MBA (Sales/Marketing/Business Strategy) / B.E. or B.Tech in Electrical/Mechanical/Energy Engineering preferred.
- Experience: 8-15 years in Sales & Business Development; minimum 5 years in a leadership role within the solar/renewables/energy sector.
Proven Track Record:
- Achieving multi-crore revenue targets
- Leading large EPC/B2B/Channel-based teams
- Managing public/private sector solar projects
- Working with utility and regulatory bodies
