General Manager - Fixed Asset Management - Manufacturing - CA

Key Activities

1. Fixed Asset Management:

- Heading the fixed asset management function and ensuring timely and accurate recording of all assets in the asset management system.

- Review of CWIP and aged items.

- Knowledge of Impairment of Assets and Differed Tax Liability.

2. Financial Reporting & Compliance:

- Preparation and submission of fixed asset-related financial reports to management and external auditors.

- Ensure compliance with relevant Accounting Standards applicable to to FA.

- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, particularly in relation to depreciation and amortization.

3. Asset Valuation & Depreciation:

- Supervise the calculation of depreciation schedules for fixed assets and ensure the accuracy of depreciation entries.

4. Audit & Internal Controls:

- Lead to make it Audit from internal and external auditors and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of asset data.

- Implement and monitor internal controls around asset tracking and disposal to prevent fraud and errors.

5. Cross-functional Collaboration:

- Collaborate with various departments (e.g., Finance, Operations, IT) to ensure proper asset documentation and integration with other financial processes.

- Provide training to employees on fixed asset management policies and procedures.

6. Asset Disposal:

- Have idea about Asset disposal of obsolete, damaged, or fully depreciated assets in accordance with company policy.

7. Process Improvement & System Implementation:

- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in fixed asset tracking and reporting.

Educational Background and Work Experience

- Chartered Accountant

- 20 years of experience in general ledger accounting with focus on fixed asset sub ledger accounting and maintenance

- Minimum 10 years of leadership experience

- SAP financial application experience preferred and knowledge of best practices in accounting

- Experience in Shared Services would be an added advantage

- Knowledge of manufacturing industries (steel, cement, energy or ports, mining)
