Job Title: General Manager Financial Strategy & Operations
Job Summary:
The General Manager Financial Strategy & Operations will lead the organizations financial planning, governance, and strategic decision-making. This role is responsible for shaping financial policies, ensuring compliance, managing enterprise-wide risks, and guiding the finance team toward operational excellence. Working closely with senior leadership, the GM will play a pivotal role in driving growth, strengthening financial performance, and ensuring long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Management:
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Provide data-driven insights to support strategic decisions and business planning.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modeling.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Oversee preparation and presentation of timely, accurate financial reports.
- Analyze financial performance to identify opportunities, risks, and corrective measures.
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards such as IFRS/GAAP.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and tax requirements.
- Establish strong internal controls to safeguard assets and reduce financial risk.
- Coordinate with auditors, regulatory authorities, and other external stakeholders.
Treasury & Cash Flow Management:
- Manage cash flow operations to meet business and investment needs.
- Oversee debt management, capital structuring, and funding strategies.
- Build strong relationships with financial institutions and investors.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and upskill the finance team to enhance performance.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Drive automation, digital tools, and process efficiency across finance functions.
Business Partnership & Support:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate business initiatives.
- Provide financial analyses for mergers, acquisitions, expansions, and new ventures.
- Define KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics that support operational excellence.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Chartered Accountant (CA)
- MBA in Finance or equivalent degree (preferred)
Experience:
- 7-10 years of progressive financial management experience.
- Proven leadership experience in strategic and operational finance roles.
