Job Title: General Manager - Finance Business Partner (FMCG)

Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

Role Overview:

The General Manager Finance Business Partner will act as a strategic finance leader supporting key business functions within the FMCG organization. This role is responsible for driving financial performance, enabling informed decision-making, and partnering closely with business leaders across sales, supply chain, operations, and marketing. The position combines strong FP&A expertise with commercial acumen to support growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

- Lead annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and long-range planning processes in collaboration with business teams.

- Analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying key drivers, risks, and opportunities.

- Prepare detailed variance analysis with actionable insights for senior management.

- Establish robust financial planning and reporting frameworks aligned with business objectives.

Business Partnering & Commercial Support

- Act as a trusted finance partner to business leaders, providing strategic and operational financial guidance.

- Support decision-making by evaluating financial implications of business initiatives and trade-offs.

- Translate complex financial data into clear insights for non-finance stakeholders.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial discipline and accountability.

Costing, Pricing & Profitability Management

- Perform detailed product, channel, and customer-level profitability analysis.

- Support pricing strategies through margin analysis, sensitivity analysis, and competitive benchmarking.

- Identify cost optimization opportunities across manufacturing, supply chain, and overheads.

- Monitor and improve gross margins and contribution margins.

Management Reporting & Performance Insights

- Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and performance scorecards for business review.

- Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports with meaningful commentary on business performance.

- Present financial insights, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.

Strategic Planning & Growth Initiatives

- Support strategic initiatives such as new product launches, capacity expansion, and business growth plans.

- Build financial models and scenario analyses to evaluate ROI, risks, and long-term impact.

- Partner with leadership on strategic reviews and investment decisions.

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, and HR teams to align financial and business goals.

- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and influence outcomes through data-driven insights.

- Promote a culture of performance management and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional finance qualification.

- 610 years of relevant experience in commercial finance, or business partnering roles.

- Prior experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or consumer-focused industries is strongly preferred.

- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, costing, pricing, and profitability analysis.

- Hands-on exposure to ERP systems and advanced financial modelling tools.
