Our clients are a leading, mid-sized real estate organisation based in Mumbai, catering to the high-end residential property in the upmarket suburbs of Mumbai. With over five decades of experience, the group has delivered more than 2 million sq. ft. across prime localities in Mumbai and Thane. Its ongoing and upcoming projects are strategically located across Mumbai. The enterprise is debt-free and preparing for an SME IPO in 2026.

Our clients are seeking a highly accomplished Finance & Accounts Head based in the Mumbai suburbs to lead the accounting & finance functions. Must be hands-on and have strong strategic & operational experience.

Ideal candidates must demonstrate high initiative, ownership, and integrity and possess a strong entrepreneurial drive and vision.

Role Overview

The Finance Head will be responsible for managing and executing the financial & accounting strategies set by the Board, as well as facilitating SME IPO implementation and listing of the organisation.

This leadership role requires 15+ years of experience in finance and accounting, including at least 57 years in the real estate sector, with experience in IPO listings, compliance, and financial governance.

The Finance Head will act as a strategic partner to the leadership team, driving financial discipline, profitability, and sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Governance

- Lead accounting, budgeting, forecasting, project planning, and financial reporting processes.

- Act as a financial advisor to the Board, CMD, and CEO on business growth, capital structuring, and profitability.

- Ensure robust internal controls, systems, and processes to maintain financial integrity.

Capital Management & Investor Relations

- Manage project finance, debt/equity funding, and JV structuring.

- Build and manage investor relations to ensure timely communication and transparency.

- Oversee cash flow, working capital, collections, and cost optimisation across projects.

Business Partnering & Strategic Insights

- Monitor project profitability and provide management with insights/reports to inform decision-making.

- Collaborate with the project, sales, legal, and operations teams for seamless financial planning.

- Support leadership in fundraising, M&A opportunities, and capital structuring.

Team Leadership

- Lead, mentor, and develop the internal finance, accounts, and admin team.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience

Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) and/or MBA (Finance) from a reputed institute.

Experience:

- Minimum 15 years of finance leadership experience.

- At least 57 years in the real estate sector.

- Experience in IPO follow-up, compliance, project finance, taxation, treasury, and investor relations.

Skills:

- Strong knowledge of corporate finance, real estate regulations, JV structuring, and capital markets.

- Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.

- Hands-on execution with the ability to manage day-to-day finance and accounting activities.

- Familiarity with financial systems, technology adoption, and automation in finance.
